Alternate US artwork
By KyleH

Hi,

Thanks for the ST4 coverage!

In 1986, I was a 13-year-old salivating for the next Trek film. I clipped almost everything that appeared in the newspaper (my clippings are at my parents house, 3000 miles from me, alas).

Here's my question: Does anyone else remember early promo art -- when the film was in theaters -- using cropped or full versions of the Kirk/Spock/bird of prey painting that ended up on the US VHS jacket... HOWEVER, with a toothy full smile on Kirk (and another 10 pounds shaved off) as opposed to the closed-lip grin he has sported in every other usage of this artwork???

Thanks!

P.S. -- There was also artwork that appeared in the newspaper with the title of the film "warping" down toward earth on a collision course with San Francisco.
