Let's keep things in perspective
By Dug

I'm a huge fan, but I'm also smart enough and grounded enough to realize that "Star Trek" is not some kind of religion or public domain fantasy world. "Enterprise" is a television show that is part of an entertainment franchise. It is a revenue stream for Paramount, plain and simple. If the suits at the top tell the crew (that would include B&B as you all like to call them) to "sex it up" a bit for ratings, then they probably don't have much choice but to do it.

I can't quote any figures, but I distinctly remember hearing that VOY saw a sharp increase in ratings after Jeri Ryan in her form-fitting catsuit was brought aboard. Plus, let's face it: Jolene Blalock is very attractive and fills out the suits nicely. If that gets more of the 18-49 males to tune in and gives the show a chance of lasting longer and giving us some of the quality they are promising, I can live with that.

Don't focus on the sex appeal, there have been other changes made as well. We got a story-arc like many wanted. Sure, the new theme sucks, but we can see that there is effort being made to increase viewership. We may never see DS9 quality shows, but I think we're going to get some quality sci-fi television and hopes of keeping the franchise alive.

Don't blame Paramount/Viacom/whoever for injecting some sex appeal into the show. Blame our society that falls for it, nearly every time If you think Paramount should be above that, send them a message...STOP WATCHING!
