Topic: Star Trek is for Kids
Yes, Star Trek had some sexual inuendo. But it was written above kids heads. It told two stories to two different audiences and kids were one of those audiences. It is those kids who who made Star Trek what it is today.

Teenagers and young adults will go see this movie, but they will not be the ones who support the franchise. It will be the kids, who in 20 years will plunk down $100 for what ever garbage crap Paramount licensees sell and wait in line to see Trek XXV.

But I am not taking my kid to see some bimbo, take her shirt off just for the sake of showing her bra or or tolerate a gratuitus sex scene in what should be a a family movie. And many parents may do the same. Bottom line, you then hurt the long term future of the franchise but not pulling in the kids.

Is Kirk a horn-dog? Yes. That is who he is. It has been well documented in many jokes. But it was subtle. Not "sexed-up" and so visual on the show where you had to think about not letting your kids see it.
