Topic: Shatner Nails it, as Usual....
It's the STORY. It always has been. That's what made it great, made it classic, made it eternal. Think about it:
Do episodes of Voyager stand up to repeated viewings?
No, I'm sorry. They don't. They're 40 minutes long, with a five minute "A" story, a five minute "B" story and the rest is special effects. Throw in a little worn-out social commentary and a pinch of political correctness and call it done.
Roddenberry, Justman, Coon and the rest got it.
They wrote good stories because that's what mattered. They wrote good dialogue because they grew up with radio and knew words were important.
