It bugs me how they're not honoring the original histories of the characters. Bones was from Georgia, not Mississippi. This was established because Deforest Kelly was from Georgia and his accent so strong that they really couldn't make the character from anywhere else. Is it canon? I'm not sure... But it's not very likely that the character would have spoken with such a specific dialect if he were raised elsewhere in the south.

Now, ive been of the mind that the new timeline has been affected retroactively... But I don't think Orci has been explaining it that way. So yeah, it can be explained... But these kind of fundamental changes in the characters irk me.

Someone mentioned on a post somewhere in the forums how it's nice that J.J. seems to be showing a lot more of Earth than we've seen in the past - making the future Earth seem more real. Well the first thing that hit me about this preview is how the brief glimpse of Earth we were given seems far more real than many of the glimpses we've seen before for one big reason: The characters aren't in Starfleet wearing star fleet uniforms, but are regular civilians dressed in regular (non jumpsuit, weird futuristic type stuff) clothing! I rather liked that.
