MTV posted a new interview with Into Darkness star Benedict Cumberbatch in which he talks about villain John Harrison. Here are excerpts.

"[Look at] real social history and present history, everything that's going on: uprisings, people who are trying to spread democracy or fight their cause, not necessarily through political means ... he is a terrorist, and sadly, that's part of the fabric of our modern world," he explained to MTV when we spoke at a "Star Trek" event in late 2012. "You don't need to look far to research that one."

Cumberbatch continued, saying he looked towards "certain terrorist groups in the past" to see how they operated.

The full video interview is here.

Garth of Izar | Report this post to moderator

Bet the new villain is Garth of Izar. He fits the profile of a terrorist and his past StarFleet Command experience would provide him with killer inside knowledge.
His dementia, his superior intelligence and his unfortunate accident would make him a sympathetic villain. Kirk and crew would be pursuing one of their own.

Cheers to all my buddies at TrekWeb!
