Roberto Orci Says Will be Bitter Sweet When the Supreme Court Break Up to do Other Things, Thinks Star Trek Will Continue to Grow

By GustavoLeao / 09:01, 27 January 2013 / Star Trek: Nemesis

Asked about his reaction to the news on J.J. ANrams directing Star Wars Episode VII, Star Trek Into Darkness co-writer Roberto Orci posted the following message at TrekMovie.com :

"Disappointed is not exact;y the right word. We have been a great band over here, so it’s more bitter sweet when the band may to break up to do other things, simply because we’ve had so much fun. But doing other things is natural and healthy."

"I think Star Trek will continue to grow beautifully, with or without us because there are so many people who love this franchise and have great stories to tell."

"And to see my friend JJ achieve an impossible dream (cue music) brings genuine joy. He is one of the true good guys in the world".

The message can be found at the TrekMovie message board (post 790)

So yeah, I'm a little bummed that this group won't be making a trilogy as a whole group. The only forgone conclusion is that JJ will not direct Trek 3. I hope that this creative team will remain for at least more. I think they've taken the right approach and brought the right reverance to the source material, but unshackled the franchise from the little aspects that had dragged it down and made a fanbase indifferent.

Essentially, we have a Trek that we love. Seeing actors impersonating the original cast outright and rehashing the same thing thematically didn't interest me. I'm open to a different interpretation of Trek that's done well, and I remain pleased that this version accomplished that.

But that doesn't mean that we can't keep getting good Trek and continue this continuity with a new creative team. I'm all for it, so long as said team comes with passion, vision and reverence. That last one will be a point of contention and even argument for some of you. I don't agree, but it is what it is. Trek needs to move forward, not backward.

Ok, I knew. The end of the Supreme Court. No more Abrams and no more Orci in Star Trek.

ST into the darkness...Ha, great epitaph for this Supreme Court of covert agents from SW
I remember when Orci insulted Berman via trekmovie...So, guy...

Adios para siempre, Roberto. Lárgate ya y no vuelvas.

A new era begins for ST. A new without turncoats, soldiers of fortune and bad writters as producers...A new era for true trekkers: Whedon, Seth Mac Farlane,Jonathan Frakes, Singer....

I don't normally bother pointing out spelling and grammar issues in the articles, but you may want to give that headline another try lol
