By GustavoLeao / 19:04, 5 January 2013 / Star Trek: Nemesis

Coming Soon is reporting that Daniel Anderson Craft, the critically ill Trek fan whose dying wish of seeing "Star Trek Into Darkness" was recently granted, has passed away.

Daniel Craft worked with the Subway Cinema and the New York Asian Film Festival, and a statement has appeared on the festival's Facebook page, stating:

"Last night around 10:15 pm, Dan Craft, who has been a member of Subway Cinema since 2004, passed away.  His wife and brother wre with him when he went, and he wasn't in any pain.  He'd been a bit loopy for a few days as his liver failed and toxins built up in his blood, and on Thursday his wife asked him if he needed to go to the bathroom.  'I'm going,' he proclaimed, 'into the future.'"

"See you there, Dan."

"Dan Craft, 1971-2013."

"We miss you."

Daniel is survived by his wife of 17 years, Paige, and a young daughter.

TrekWeb sends condolences to Daniel's entire family and friends --- our thoughts continue to be with you.

A lot of praise to paramount for getting this done quickly so he got to see it, and the lack of fanfare surrounding it.. Prayers for his friends and family.

I hope he gets a dedication in the end credits.

Glad you got to see "Into Darkness" (even if only in rough-cut form) before you passed into the great beyond.
