J.J. Abrams Reveals Details of Star Trek Into Darkness Plot and Talks About John Harrison - SPOILERS

By GustavoLeao / 23:17, 22 December 2012 / Star Trek: Nemesis

TrekMovie.com posted a new interview video interview from GyaO! in which he talks some more details about the film Star Trek Into Darkness and here is an excerpt.

JJ Abrams: So this movie doesn’t require you have seen the first movie. The characters are a group of people who have recently come together and find themselves up against this incredibly terrifying force. His name is John Harrison and he is sort of an average – that is what makes him so scary – he is just an average guy who works in an organization called Starfleet, and he turns against the group because he has got this back-story and this kind of amazing secret agenda. After two very violent attacks, one in London and one in the US, our characters have to go after this guy and apprehend him. And it is a far more complicated and difficult thing then they ever anticipated. "Into Darkness" is very much about how intense it gets and really what they are up against.

An average guy | Report this post to moderator

JJ talking about this villain as some average guy.

Technically, wouldn't that basically describe Harrison from the original series--just some ordinary schmoe that no one ever paid attention to?

Some guy in the background?

If you take the name John Harrison, and you map j--> g, o-->a, h-->h, n-->r, a-->o, r-->f, i-->i, s-->z, and you apply that mapping , you get

GAHRR OFF IZAR.

Not a perfect match, but you don't expect a perfect match because that would be a dead giveaway.

Amusing :).

no fake flairs in '09. Lies. | Report this post to moderator

I Read the full article. Did JJ try to say that not many if any of the flairs in '09 were fake...hes lying through his teeth. If you look in the special features, they did nothing but shine flashlights into the camera. When I watch a movie I like to see whats going on, not have the whole picture blurred out by freaking lensflares. The bit about panavision and lensflares is bull. LEDs do not flare out a panavision camera. JJ can take his beloved flares and cram them up his shuttlebay for all I care. And hold a camera level for heavens sake. This is Star Trek. Not 1960s Batman. End Rant. BTW I say the villian is really Janice Lester... :-P

I'm going to assume this will put to rest the "John Harrison is just a cover for the real villain" debates.

Who am I kidding.. this is Trekweb. That debate will continue a year after the movie is released lol.
