The 2009 movie was better than what we've had, but nowhere near on the level of the TOS movies (except of course TMP and TFF).
I expect a lot more this time around.
I absolutely hated the 9 minute preview but this teaser actually looks really good and presents some interesting imagery.
Not wild about the fact that the brewery seems to be back but I'm officially hopeful again that this will be a good movie in spite of that awful prologue.
Expected a trailer not a teaser.
Why is Checkov in red?
Still looking kickass mind!
Thanks JJ for continuing to perpetuate the fantasies of every manboy in our country that they can remain infantalized douchebags yet be in command of something as huge and powerful as a starship. It's preposterous.
Based on the observation of the person who posted below, I screengrabbed the 720dp HD shot of this scene and it does seem to show a man with dark hair and a short ponytail, walking out of the room of stasis units wearing a madarin collared uniform, similiar to the orange one that Khan wore in "Space Seed". He also seems to be with a medical officer, based on the white coats we saw them wear in the last film. I hate to say this but... COULD this be Khan? If so, is John Harrison the loan "genetic superman" to survive the Botany Bay? That could explain the "vengance" he spoke of in the voice over. Definitely interesting to speculate..

"If a sixth Star Trek television series is ever realized, it will be set in the new universe." -- cdydatzigs, June 15, 2009.
Take a look at 0:55 of the new trailer!
POSSIBLE ** SPOILER BELOW:
Is that KHAN walking out of a room with CRYOBAYS??!!
If so, John Mitchell may be a KHAN follower or KHAN himself!

So scenes from this trailer goes back to a criticism of the last movie, which was Starfleet giving command of one of the best ships in the fleet to a cadet.
In the prime universe, it seems logical that Kirk earned the Enterprise the right way--by being exceptional and just a natural. But he also served on a few ships, learning from other captains.
Kirk needed to be invincible because the captain HAD to be invincible.
In the altered timeline, Kirk got to the same spot, but differently. If what Pike (I'm guessing that's Pike) is saying is right, then that's further evidence that Kirk does not deserve his command, even months/years after the events of the last movie.
I'm assuming, or at least hoping that by the end of THIS movie, Kirk will be Kirk, but if Pike or other higher ups feel this way, then why is Kirk still in command?
