...there might be another character impersonating him. I mean... where did he get those abilities from?

So, its not Kahn. But... | Report this post to moderator

I did not think it would be Kahn, precisely because Mr. Benedict Cumberbatch is not an Indian actor.
Also I do not think that would be Gary, he was telekinetic, no need to fight, as we saw in the trailer.
Nor can be Sibok, since this man demand "revenge," a path very different from the half-brother of Spock.
So there goes my theory:
So, what if the Klingons found the Botany Bay?
For whatever reason, (after all, they are Klingons), Kahn and others were not thawed or are dead, I dont know.
Mr. Benedict Cumberbatch may be one of the companions of Kahn (only remember one name, Joaquin).
This would explain the superhuman strength and the will to get revenge on Earth, sinse he and the other were banished.
What do you guys think?

Pointy Starfleet Sideburns are back! | Report this post to moderator
By: Doro (Odo's file, contact) @ 04:08:04 on Dec 11, 2012

I didn't notice the classic Starfleet tapered sideburns the male characters wore in TOS. At the time, it was to not date the show. But it's good to see from the enlarged photo that Kirk and Spock wear them. Gary Mitchell? John Harrison? Carol Marcus? Who cares? Gonna be a fun film.

Harrison's bio | Report this post to moderator

This is getting funnier. There WAS a Harrison on SEVERAL episodes of TOS. Check this out. If this REALLY is the bad guy, and they picked an obscure red shirt like guy that no one would guess, I can only tip my hat and say that's very funny. Not only would this interest me, but I would want to check out episodes featuring Harrison.

John Harrison? That's what Paramount claims his name is in the caption for the photo, but it is likely a decoy name. Time will tell.

Probably an alias, but still | Report this post to moderator

It'll probably end up being some sort of alias, but it's a good sign that this isn't going to be Khan or Gary Mitchell and instead may be a new character, which makes me happy.

Herring....Red Herring.

--------

The first truth is that the liberty of a democracy is not safe if the people tolerate the growth of private power to a point where it becomes stronger than their democratic state itself. That, in its essence, is fascism — ownership of government by an individual, by a group, or by any other controlling private power. ” — Franklin D. Roosevelt, "Message from the President of the United States Transmitting Recommendations Relative to the Strengthening and Enforcement of Anti-trust Laws.”
