First Details of Star Trek Into Darkness Longer Trailer Revealed - SPOILERS

Features

By GustavoLeao / 03:41, 9 December 2012 / Star Trek: Nemesis

A longer version of the Star Trek Into Darkness screened yesterday at "Butt-Numb-A-Thon" in Austin, Texas and gave new footage for the movie. Here is some new details from the footage show in Austin, Texas posted at ComicBookMovie.com  (Beware of Spoilers)

"Full STAR TREK trailer indicates hands against glass scene is actually Spock and Cumberbatch. If he’s Sybock… Well, kudos.

That said, Cumberbatch does NOT have Vulcan ears. Hands against glass scene seems to be Cumby in the brig.

Trailer opens with Pike VO, telling Kirk he has courage but no humility, and someday that will get him and his crew killed.

Oh yeah: there’s space stuff in the full TREK trailer. Space combat. Guy in a space suit zooming around."

Jordan Hoffman adds..

"Cumberbatch was definitely shown in some sort of brig

Chekov appears in a red tunic (instead of his regular gold tunic)

Someone wears a EVA space suit with similar design to the one used in Star Trek: The Motion Picture"

OK, now people are just getting silly. It's bad enough assuming that Star Trek 2.0 II is going to be a remake of Star Trek 1.0 II with Khan, or that the second "pilot film" so to speak would be remake of the original second pilot film with Mitchell. But Sybok? Why in heaven's name would an ill-conceived character from the film that is considered the worst Trek movie by everyone who doesn't think Nemesis is the worst be brought back? That's as senseless as making the film a remake of Spock's Brain.

And anyway, didn't Shatner co-write Star Trek V? If so, and they were using one of his characters, we'd have heard about it by now.

Regarding Cumberbatch's character | Report this post to moderator

I had a theory pop up in my head the other day, but since it wasn't fully formed, I left it alone.... But hearing the brig scene is Cumberbatch and Spock, I'm going to go ahead and bring it up

In yet another nod to Nolan, what if JJ has tapped into pursuing the repercussions from the first film. What if Cumberbatch is someone (canon character or not) that lost something (family) in the destruction of Vulcan? And now he wants 'vengeance' against the federation by detonating the fleet? What if he knows Spock because of his association with Vulcan?

I don't know, but I wouldn't be surprised to see these situations connected.

So CumbyChar and Spock have some kind of personal relationship? Perhaps very personal? Quinto like? Perhaps that's why Uhura had to be comforted by Scotty?
