According to SuperHeroHype.com, director Bryan Singer has now confirmed that the upcoming X-Men: Days of Future Past will mix cast members from his X-Men and X2 with those from Matthew Vaughn's X-Men: First Class. Taking to Twitter, Singer reports that Ian McKellen and Patrick Stewart are set to reprise their roles as Magneto and Professor X with Michael Fassbender and James McAvoy returning to play younger versions of the same characters.

Although not yet officially listed, Singer's "more to come" is likely to also include Hugh Jackman as Wolverine. In addition to playing a key role in the comic book version of the story, Wolverine has appeared in every live-action X-Men film to date and will star in his second solo adventure with the July 26 release The Wolverine.

What I find interesting is that they are keeping the continuity alive, which is good.

None of the X Men movies would fall into "best superheroes movie ever" category. There were better movies before the first one, and better movies outside that franchise since.

That said, the first X Men movie was pretty good. The second movie was at minimum, as good, if not better. The third one was a colossal disappointment. It wasn't good at all.

Wolverine was enjoyable--better than expected.

The X Men prequel was much better than the third movie.

They have a good overall track record, far better than the pre-Nolan Batman franchise.

Are they really still making these Xmen movies? I don't know; I guess I was never a big fan of the Xmen to begin with, but these movies have all seemed pretty mediocre. I haven't seen the last one, which I hear was pretty good. Meh.
