SterTrek.com Poll : William Shatner Is Top Choice for Star Trek Into Darkness Cameo

Features

By GustavoLeao / 08:12, 26 November 2012 / Star Trek: Nemesis

StarTrek.com has just released the results of their recent poll asking "which TOS cast member would you most want to see make a cameo in "Star Trek Into Darkness", and actor/director William Shatner, the original James T Kirk, was the top vote getter.

Shatner received 48% of the vote, followed by George Takei with 28%, Nichelle Nichols at 14% and Walter Koenig at 11%.

With WIlliam Shatner expressing his desire to appear in the newly rebooted "Star Trek" films, here's hoping "the power's that be" are listening, and the fans get their wish in the upcoming "Star Trek Into Darkness".

What is this, 2007? This is such a tired argument and such a desperate begging show from old school fans who think a bloated 81-year old man belongs in these films. it's hilarious because it will never, EVER happen.

Grandpa Kirk? | Report this post to moderator

I believe someone said that JJA will tinker around with the movie as long as possible.

Perhaps they have a free greenscreen section in the movie to put someone into in post production. Shatner as his own grandfather perhaps?

Imagine Bill appearing with a big red nose on the main screen on the Enterprise bridge:

Grandpa - "Boy, is it you?"
Jim - "Yes Grandpa, what's up? I'm in kinda hurry!"
Grandpa - "I've heard you're passing through the saurian system. Can you bring me some brandy from there when you return?"
Jim - Sigh "Sure I can, grandpa. Kirk out!"
Spock - "Captain I don't think it's apropriate to ship brandy back to earth on a federation starship. What do you think, Doctor?"
McCoy - "I'll have two bottles, Jim!"

Isn't the film completed? It's a bit late to be considering cameos at this late stage of the game, isn't it?
