With news yesterday that a 9-minute preview of "Star Trek Into Darkness"
will appear before IMAX 3D screenings of "The Hobbit" beginning on
December 14th, today brings the news that the first trailer for "Star
Trek Into Darkness" will also appear on December 14th.
Trekmovie.com
is exclusively reporting that the first full trailer, not a short
teaser trailer, will appear before non-IMAX showings of "The Hobbit"
when it opens December 14th. The trailer will not be a rehash of the
9-minute IMAX footage, but will contain images from throughout the film.
TrekMovie.com
says that the trailer will be exclusive to showings of the non-IMAX
screenings of "The Hobbit". After the first weekend, the trailer is
supposedly going to hit the web, followed by being shown in additional
releases the following weekend.

Plus, in a TrekMovie.com exclusive post, Chris Pine was interviewed by Joe
Michalzuk of Sky News for "Rise of The Guardians", where Pine briefly
mentioned the upcoming 9-minute preview of "Star Trek Into Darkness."
Pine,
who plays the new Captain James Kirk, said, "The thing with J. J. (Abrams) is that
he's like the master puppeteer, so it's like none of us know anything, I
didn't know that it was going to be shown. I don't know what the
footage is, what's exciting for that for me is that I get excited so I
want to go to the theatre to just check it out. I'm excited for people
to see the movie, it's bigger than the last one, we have a great
villain, I can't wait until it's released."

interview with Chris Pine can be found on the TrekMovie.com news post.
