According to the producers of the upcoming Star Trek Renegades independent web series, directed by Tim Russ, actor/voice talent Vic Mignogna has joined the cast of Renegades!

Vic has been acting since the age of eight. He's been involved in many productions on stage and screen. However, Vic is best known as a voice actor for more than two hundred animated shows and video games, best known being Fullmetal Alchemist and Dragonball Z. Even longer than his voice acting, Vic has been a professional music composer / singer / producer who has written and produced hundreds of pieces for TV, radio and CD. He sings the themes for shows like One Piece & DBGT, and has produced several CDs of his own original music, all available on iTunes. Vic has a degree in film and works regularly writing, producing and directing video and film productions of all kinds, including web series like “Nuka Break”, “Starship Farragut” and more. Above all, Vic's childhood love is Star Trek, and he is executive producing a brand new TOS based series “Star Trek Continues”, in which he also plays the role of Captain James T. Kirk (photo). Vic brings a wealth of experience and lifelong Trek passion to Renegades.

No info yet on the role he will be playing in Star Trek Renegades.

Here is a synospsis of the Renegades web series premise :

It is nearly ten years after Voyager’s return from the Delta Quadrant, and the Federation is in a crisis. The planet Reuel VII, the Federation’s main supply of dilithium crystals, has essentially vanished. Space and time has folded around Reuel VII, effectively isolating it from any contact with outside worlds.  And this phenomenon is not natural – someone or something has caused this to happen.

This necessitates drastic measures; some of which are outside the Federation’s jurisdiction. For this, Admiral Pavel Chekov, head of Starfleet Intelligence, turns to Commander Tuvok, Voyager’s former security officer and current head of the newly reorganized Section 31.  Tuvok must put together a new covert, renegade crew - mostly outcasts and rogues - even criminals.  This new crew is tasked with finding out what caused the folding of time and space around Reuel, and stopping it – at all costs –  from happening to their final source of energy. But will they be able to put aside their differences and stop trying to kill one another in time to accomplish their mission?

The Kickstater Fundaraiser campaign is here

This project will only be funded if at least $200,000 is pledged by Monday Nov 26, 7:21am EST.
