Star Trek: Nemesis
In an interview with Crave Online to promote his new film, "Flight", which open this weekend
in the US, Bruce Greenwood teasingly explains why he and his fellow
actors can not say anything about "Star Trek Into Darkness".
Crave Online's William Bibbiani asks Greenwood, who plays
Admiral Christopher Pike, in "Star Trek Into Darkness", if he can say
anything about the film, and Bruce answers, "Yes, I can. I get to tell
you absolutely anything. J. J. in fact called me recently, and
texted me too, and just said, 'Listen, I want you to tell them.'"
Greenwood immediately followed this by saying, "I'll kill you after."
Bibbiani asked Greenwood if he had recently seen the three frame
clip of "Star Trek Into Darkness" that J. J. Abrams recently previewed
on Conan, and he answered, "No. I haven't seen it. I have heard about
it though." Bibbiani stated that folks must really be bothering
Greenwood for any bit of information, and he replied, "But they know
it's a mug game. They can ask all they want, I'm just going to look at
them with a flat face." Greenwood continued, stating that asking for
any information is "a waste of air."
Greenwood then went into more detail as why he and his fellow
actors could not say anything about "Star Trek Into Darkness", saying,
"We respect the audience enough. We're not going to tell. We're not
going to spoil it for them. And we all have enough of a sense of
self-preservation not to throw our careers out, you know?" Laughing,
Greenwood said, "You would have to pay me so much ... because I woud be
non grata in the industry. So you'd have to pay for my reputation. I
don't think I could come back to Hollywood with any amount of pay-off
money."
