Further Comments by Roberto Orci Concerning Fan's Frustration with Star Trek Into Darkness

Features

By GustavoLeao / 04:24, 9 October 2012 / Star Trek: Nemesis

Roberto Orci, the co-writer of "Star Trek Into Darkness", has followed up his recently reported Trekmovie.com message posts, concerning fan criticism of the film, with these statements:

Orci states that he fully understands fans frustration concerning the lack of marketing (teaser poster, trailer, etc.) for "Star Trek Into Darkness", by saying, he "appreciates that you wanna see things ASAP. Delayed gratification is not a strong characteristic in some folks. I get it".

But, Orci ended by humorously asking folks to calm down and be patient, saying, "Relax. The movie is gonna melt your face right off. Your eyeballs are going to bleed. And you'll thank us".

Orci's comments can be found in message post # 398, dated Oct. 7th, on Trekmovie.com message board.

Although I'm itching to see marketing material as a fan - my concern is that Paramount is going back to the old days of simply milking the cash cow and not given the promotion required of a blockbuster.

So it's for the general cinema going public and the PR a poster/teaser/trailer/clips bring that I want to see some promotional material more than anything.

Buzz - it needs some.

Even though I will always be a big Trek fan and will continue to check trekweb daily, I am rapidly losing interest in the next movie. I like JJ as a film-maker, but Orci kills any anticipation.

Of course, I will hold any judgement until I see some trailers and read reviews. If it looks like it sucks or will piss me off as a Trek fan, I will not spend money to see it. Right now I am more looking forward to Pacific Rim and Man of Steel than Star Trek.
