This looks like a 3d model that Ricky Wallace of madshipyard.com made. I even created a render of it almost 2 years ago.

My render.

looks very similar.

Ooo, that is very nice. The Enterprise between the end of the Original/Cartoon series and that of the movies.

Except of the nacelles it looks much more like the Phase II refit.

There probably is no definitive canon, but Ive been under the assumption that the refit was done all at once, but this implies a stage one refit and then a stage two refit which we saw finishing up at the beginning of ST TMP.

But I call bullshit, and say there was only one. Can't see this being a mistake though.

...typical. In the past we had the Enterprise sometimes pictured upside down in our TV-magazines. ;-)
But this is creative I admit.

like the ship was badly needed for some crisis so they slapped the old dish and nacelles back on to get her space ready.

hmmm | Report this post to moderator

I think it's more likely the artist just made a mistake, kinda like when the Ent-D fired phasers from the photon torpedo bay. The "half refit" makes no sense from any perspective. Why replace the nacelle pylons but keep the old nacelle? why keep the old deflector dish?
