Rumors for Price and Release Date for Star Trek The Next Generation The Complete Remastered Season One on Blu-Ray

According to TrekCore.com, Amazon.co.uk has published a release date of July 23, 2012 for the upcoming Blu-Ray release of Star Trek The Next Generation The Complete Remastered Season One Based on previous Star Trek releases, we can expect that a North American release date will be around the same time (give or take a few days).

UK store Sainsburys have advertised on their website an initial price of £50.99 (GBP), equivalent to around $81.00 (USD).

I totally get that they did a lot of work. They may have done even MORE work for the TOS remasters. And they did a hell of a job.

But these are still very old shows. In the case of TOS, it's a 46 year old show, and 25 for TNG.

Let's get real. Most shows that old sell entire seasons for under $20. Modern shows don't sell for that much either. I know Trek is awesome, but to charge these outrages prices is a message from Paramount calling their fans stupid.

I would love to have the TOS episodes on blu ray, but not until the prices are reasonable.

...outrageous, if true. I'd never pay that again when I can get current series on Blu-Ray for $25 - $40. Same reason I didn't buy the TOS remasters - why pay so much more than everything else? I love TOS and TNG, but not that much.
