I thought it was only being converted to 3D?
By the way people with 20-20 vision, 3D doesn't work if you have a lazy eye...

"I would be happy for Star Trek to come along decades later with a new group of minds. I'd love someone to say, 'Besides this one, Gene Roddenberry's was nothing!'" - Gene Roddenberry
"...I think it would be wonderful years from now to see Star Trek come back with an equally talented new cast playing Spock and Kirk and Bones and Scotty and all the rest, as they say tomorrow's things to tomorrow's generations..." - Gene Roddenberry
I have to admit that I was relieved to see that the uniforms are exactly the same as the ones from the 2009 film -- especially since there is often a desire to change too much from sequel to sequel. But looking at the images of Uhura, I noticed that even her hairstyle is exactly the same. Could it be then that the film doesn't take place 4 years later (in 2262) but instead, directly after the last film?

I hope this 3D fad goes away soon. A friends sister works at the big movie plex here in town and said her boss was thinking about dropping 3D or scaling it back to a single theater because they've noticed that on opening nights more and more people (myself included) will drive across town or to the next city near us to watch something in regular 2D. I'm hoping this is a trend that picks up.
Love to see it in Imax though, but we don't have one of those even remotely close.
