With the Burbank International Film Festival currently in full swing (it’s running through Sunday, September 18th), filmmaker/genre personality Jeff Rector told Dread Central about the Sci-fi & Horror Red Carpet Party he’s hosting in conjunction with the fest tomorrow night, Saturday, September 17th. Read on for information on the genre-studded event honoring the legendary Roger Corman, including how to purchase tickets.
“I am hosting the first ever Night of Science-Fiction, Fantasy & Horror and the Red Carpet After Party,” said Rector of the event, which will take place at TDJ Studios (10815 Burbank Blvd. in North Hollywood) from 10:00 pm to 3:00 am. “We will be honoring legendary filmmaker Roger Corman with the ‘Pioneer Award’ and will have an open bar, full buffet and red carpet with DJ Starlett spinning in the 6,000-square-foot space. There will also be a special performance by Tim Russ ("Star Trek: Voyager") and his band and undead go-go dancers on stage, as well as prop movie sets throughout the venue for photo opportunities.”
Tickets for the event are $40 a pop and can be purchased online here. The package additionally includes a screening of the Star Trek adventure "Of Gods and Men" at the AMC 6 (770 North 1st Street, Burbank, CA) with a cast and crew Q&A afterwards as well as the opportunity to walk down the red carpet before moving the celebration over to TDJ Studios for the Corman honorarium and after party.
