Is INTO DARKNESS better than STAR TREK (2009)?. Is INTO DARKNESS better than STAR TREK (2009)?

al.com posted a new interview with Star Trek Voyager star Kate Mulgrew and here are few excerpts.
KENNETH: What can we expect from Kove in some of these episodes? Some of the crazy things that she does [in NTSF:SD:SUV].
KATE MULGREW: In the 12 episodes that we shot, you know we had a very grueling season. It took about five and a half weeks. (Laughs).
Kove goes just about everywhere you can imagine. And some places you don’t want to imagine. I think I chopped (a character’s) thumbs off at one point. I’m invariable making love to someone else at another point. I’m always tracking Paul Scheer because I have a dogged devotion to him. And then I think there’s one where we get absolutely smashed and kill a bunch of -- who do we kill? -- Japanese people or Balkans or something. It’s so outrageous. All I can say is that I laughed for six weeks. And this is a big stretch for me. Because I’m nearly weeping at the end of my day on a sound stage. And this was not only a refreshing change, but it’s heaven -- heaven to laugh like that. But the trick is, and I think the thing that’s fascinating for an actress like myself to observe: Comedy is tougher than drama to film well. And Paul Sheer and (producer) Jon Stern know this. Know that it is a matter of real delicacy. You walk a fine line to pull off this kind of lunatic humor and make it acceptable to everybody. And that’s done in a very difficult environment.
KENNETH: Do you think this character is kind of an homage to some of the characters like from “Airplane!” like Leslie Nielsen played -- the straight faced, but crazy character?
KATE MULGREW: Absolutely. (Laughing). My favorite! Absolutely! I’m going to think of myself now as Leslie Nielsen -- the female Leslie Nielsen ... “Ever seen a grown man naked?” That’s her exactly.
KENNETH: You’re also working on “Warehouse 13” I read. (Mulgrew is part of a 4-episode arc beginning Aug. 29.)
KATE MULGREW: I am, and I had a remarkably great time up there. I go into these things never knowing what to expect really because of my own experience with episodic television. And Jack Kenny, who is the show runner on Warehouse 13, is probably one of the best, if not THE best show runners I’ve worked with. He runs a tight ship and is full of grace and humor. Everybody’s relaxed. And it’s very much a feeling of family. Very much a feeling of togetherness. Very much a feeling of creative collaboration. So that in the middle of a scene I felt absolutely free to fill in my own nuances and knew that I would not be taken to task for any of it.
KENNETH: I’d like to ask you a Star Trek question real quick. “Star Trek: Voyager” has been off the air for about 10 years. How do you think Capt. Janeway changed the Star Trek universe?
KATE MULGREW: Well, she certainly changed it for women, not to put too fine a point on it because that’s obviously apparent. I think I elevated science fiction for women and also introduced to the viewing public the idea -- the broader idea, the more advanced idea -- of a woman in command to support where we’re going -- It’s 2011 for heaven’s sake. And Paramount had that foresight as did Rick Berman. And I say this often and I’ll say it till I die: I was very privileged to play Capt. Janeway, and I love that chapter of my life.
