Press Release

Chase Masterson Features in Star Trek Online

Please join us in welcoming Chase Masterson to STO!

Acclaimed MMO developer Cryptic Studios announced today that Chase Masterson, the actress who played Leeta the Dabo girl on Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, has joined the cast of Star Trek Online, the first massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) ever set in the Star Trek universe.

Masterson is the third Star Trek actor to perform voice work for Star Trek Online, after Leonard Nimoy and Zachary Quinto.

"Chase's genuineness of spirit and playful nature make her precisely the type of actress that embodies Star Trek," says Eugene "Rod" Roddenberry Jr., son of Trek creator Gene Roddenberry and CEO of Roddenberry Productions. "I'm looking forward to her reprising the role of Leeta." Masterson was added to the game due to popular demand, after a grassroots petition was started by players and Trek fans.

In Star Trek Online, Dabo plays like a mix between roulette and a traditional slot machine. Players gamble on the result of a spin of the wheel; they choose regions of the circular board where they believe the wheel will stop. If the player wins, he earns gold-pressed latinum, which he can trade for special prizes exclusive to the Dabo mini-game.

Named one of the world's "50 Sexiest Women" by Femme Fatales Magazine, Chase Masterson was first recognized for her breakout role as "Leeta" in the final five seasons of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine.  Known to millions of fans worldwide, TV Guide's online readers poll voted Chase the "Favorite Science Fiction Actress on Television," Sci-Fi Universe Magazine honored her as one of the "Top 20 People to Watch in Hollywood," and in December 2009 AOL named her one of the "Ten Sexiest Aliens" in television history.  Recent feature film credits include Robotech and the multi-award-winning sci-fi noir Yesterday Was a Lie. Masterson will keep fans updated about her participation in STO via Twitter at username @chasemasterson.
