Collider.com posted a new video interview with Star Trek actor John Cho, in which he talked a bit about the Star Trek XII sequel, and here is a brief summary of what he told the site :

  • Heard they are still working on the script
  • Hasn't heard anything about the villain yet
  • Has he tried to pitch anything for Sulu
  • We talk about the lens flares and what did he think about them

  • Watch the full video interview here.

Plus, MovieWeb posted another new interview with Cho and here are excerpts.

Have you seen a script yet for "Star Trek 2" or do you know when that may start shooting?

John Cho: No and no. I know that we're making one but that's kind of all I know at this point. It seems like that cast is particularly busy. There are some desk calendars that need to get arranged before we can start shooting?

Are you excited for the chance to return to that character and the "Star Trek" franchise?

John Cho: I'm totally excited. You know what it is? I'm excited about getting back together with friends and working on something that we all like. We hang out socially but it's a real special feeling to get together with friends and labor on something, do you know what I'm saying? So I'm excited about it.

But no official start date yet?

John Cho: No, but I know it's happening next year

The full interview can be found here.

I agree...it pissed me off too.

Like the humans of the UFP, beyond jumping to the rescue with rooks because the whole fleet is in one single system, wouldn't care about their fellow citizens of different races.

I mean, the North American response to the Haiti and Chilean earthquakes, beyond the expatriates from those nations, was more important than what we see from the crew in the movie...

Not even a second to ponder.

Why not not have it be about a Villain? I'm sure they could get in some fist fights and chase sequences in without making it another film about stopping some mental case from blowing up the world. Maybe they could solve a mystery or something?
