SyFy Channel science fiction original movie Doomsday starring Star Trek The Next Generation actress Marina Sirtis has been renamed Annihilation Earth (see the cast photo below) and is scheduled to air on December 12th.

"I was thrilled to be asked to be in Doomsday as the part I played, Paxton, was written for a man. I had worked with the director, Nick Lyon, On Grendel and it was his idea to cast me." Ms Sirtis told TrekWeb "The film is about particle colliders and while we were filming they activated the real one in Switzerland. Talk about life imitating art!"

Plus, SyFy science fiction thriller movie Fire From Below starring former Gene Roddenberry's Andromeda star Kevin Sorbo will air later this month, on November 22nd. The official page for the movie is here.

I was hoping they'd be in the same movie. Then maybe it would be better than the usually craptastic movies SyFy does.
