Brannon Braga to Co-Write Iron Man Comic Book Mini Series

Features

By GustavoLeao / 16:55, 17 August 2009 / Trek Books

According to Io9, Marvel Comics have recruited Star Trek writer Brannon Braga and Green Lantern movie co-writer Marc Guggenheim to reveal all in Iron Man Vs. Whiplash.

The four-issue series will, according to editor Bill Rosemann, tell you all you need to know about Mickey Rourke's character before the movie:

Before he flays the metal off of Tony Stark's hide in 'Iron Man 2,' this is every True Believer's chance to crawl inside the twisted head of the wicked Whiplash... If it's jet-setting, globe-trotting, eye-popping action you crave, Iron Man Vs. Whiplash will make you believe that Tony Stark is indeed a cool exec with a heart of steel... and Whiplash is the fiend that will break it!

The original report, including artwork, is here.

can make Tony reconfigure his uni-beam into a tachyon emitter and reverse the polarity of the anti-protons.

Then the Iron Man comic could have gratuitously insulting (but enjoyable none the less) shots of Pepper Potts and Natasha Romanov in the near-nuddie, a pratfall where Pepper falls through the ceiling and her tops comes off (ho-ho-ho!) and then, in a real "valentine to the fans", we'd discover the entire comic is a story being told by the original Tony Stark from those tacky '60s cartoons - yes, it was all a big 'What if, one day in the future..?' yarn.

Guggenheim can be pretty decent | Report this post to moderator

Braga can also be pretty decent (he's got some great scripts under his belt...and also "Threshold", but still), so I'm assuming you put these two together you'll get something probably pretty decent.
