Goyer and Jonah Nolan Writing Next BATMAN Movie?

Feb 08 | While his "Lost" co-stars prepare to pack up and leave Hawaii, Daniel Dae Kim can plan to remain there for at least a few more months. Mr. Kim, who plays the time-traveling tough guy Jin on "Lost," has been the first actor cast in a coming remake of the crime drama "Hawaii Five-O," The Hollywood Reporter said. He has been cast as Chin Ho Kelly, a detective played by Kam Fong in the original series, which began in 1968. The "Hawaii Five-O" revival is being developed by the screenwriters Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci ("Star Trek," "Fringe") and Peter Lenkov, an executive producer of "CSI: NY."

The June/July issue of Latina featuring Star Trek hottie Zoë Saldana on the cover (see above). In the issue, she opens up to Latina about her entire Star Trek experience, from steamy sex scenes with Chris Pine, to her admiration of Nichelle Nichols and even J.J. Abrams talks about how Zoë could kick his ass! Here are few excerpts of the article
ON NICHELLE NICHOLS, THE ORIGINAL UHURA
"What Nichelle created with Uhura will never be touched," she says. "The good thing is that the character I'm playing is 20 years younger than the one she played in the series. In our movie, the characters start off young at the Starfleet Academy, before they start working on the Enterprise, so I really had the liberty to make the role my own. Uhura is definitely no-nonsense," she says. "She needs to be that way, but she never compromises her vulnerability, which is what makes her so feminine and beautiful."
JJ ABRAMS ON ZOE SALDANA KICKING HIS ASS
"She is this incredibly powerful woman. She's teeny, so her power isn't physical-though I'm sure she could kick my ass-but it comes from a wonderful, intuitive intelligence. She always looks like she's got some sort of secret that she can choose to use however she wants to."
ON SHOOTING STEAMY SEX SCENES WITH STAR TREK CO-STAR CHRIS PINE: "There's nothing sexual about shooting a sex scene, you must know!" she says. "You are sweating your ass off under the lights, or you're freezing. You're hungry, or you're bloated and gassy because they had pizza on the set that day."
ON WINNING AN OSCAR: "You know that cover that Kate Winslet did for Vanity fair recently, where she said, ‘You bet your ass I want that Oscar'?" Saldana asks. "Well, it's the same with me. I'm not going to be like, ‘I just want to be known for my work.' No, I want that golden statue on my shelf. Whether it happens or not, it will not determine the kind of substance that I feel I contributed. But I want it... Shoot for the stars and I'll settle for a cloud."
ON AVOIDING A HOLLYWOOD EGO: "You'll never see me shopping on Robertson Boulevard or hanging out in super-public spaces like that. I'm fiercely territorial about my privacy. And I cannot follow a crowd," she says. "I never want to get to the point where I'm walking a red carpet thinking, ‘I'm fabulous.' At times, Hollywood is going to get the best of you, and you will wake up feeling overconfident. But I have too many people that keep me in check if I fail to do so myself."
ON WANTING TO BE LIKE SALMA HAYEK: "All you see is Salma and a sea of ties, and she's leading," she says. "A woman who is in control, who commands the ship and knows what she's doing, is what I want to be."
ON HER INTERPRETATION OF A FUN STATURDAY NIGHT: "We just get together in my house or at a friend's house," she says, "and it's about finding the most expensive bottles of wine and having the most exquisite conversations till 3 o'clock in the morning-and having someone sober drive us home. Usually the men."
