By GustavoLeao / 14:28, 1 January 2009 / Feature Films

On his blog, comic book artist David Messina posted the cover artwork for the third issue of the Star Trek Countdown mini series, which features Ambassador Spock. Here is how IDW describes the issue :

Star Trek: Countdown #3

Roberto Orci & Alex Kurtzman (story) • Tim Jones & Mike Johnson (writers) • David Messina (art & cover)

From J.J. Abrams, Roberto Orci, and Alex Kurtzman comes the exclusive comic prequel to STAR TREK, the motion picture event of 2009! The Romulan villain Nero continues his vengeful crusade against the Federation. Don't miss any of the action as the clock ticks down to the premiere of STAR TREK this summer!

You can check a larger version of the artwork, plus two other versions of the cover here.

I'm one of the few people who orders Trek books at my local comics shop, and I found a nice surprise tucked into my pull file the other day - the store's promo poster for the series!

--------

In Italy for 30 years under the Borgias they had warfare, terror, murder, and bloodshed, but they produced Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci, and the Renaissance. In Switzerland they had brotherly love - they had 500 years of democracy and peace, and what did that produce? The cuckoo clock.

-Harry Lime (Orson Welles), "The Third Man"

Political tags-such as royalist, communist, democrat, populist, fascist, liberal, conservative, and so forth-are never basic criteria. The human race divides politically into those who want people to be controlled and those who have no such desire.

-Robert A. Heinlein

Ah hell it wont be out till January 28th. Damn it I knew they would make us wait all month. Oh no could not be in the first week of January. But that is part of their master plan which simply means that the 4th on will be out at the end of April leaving only one week until the movie is out

That is what I am wondering, I have yet to check my local comic books store. Countdown 1 is to be released in January 2009, that is a little vague. Is number one out yet? When in January?
