By GustavoLeao / 07:29, 3 July 2008 / Feature Films

ComingSoon.net posted a new interview with Star Trek movie writers Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman in which they talk about their upcoming movie projects like the movies Eagle Eyes and 2012, but Kurtzman also talked briefly about the Trek movie. Here is an excerpt.

CS: The "Star Trek" movie you guys have been working on has been fairly low-key and kept very quiet. Are you guys going to try to bust something out at Comic-Con for that?

Kurtzman:
We are trying to get our act together here in the last moments. We're so focused on editing the movie that we've forgotten about promoting it. We're not sure what we're going to release it with. We're trying to figure it out. We're going to be there for "Fringe" and "Eagle Eye" and for other things. We're all going to be there, so I'm sure we'll figure out something before we get there.

The full interview is here.

With a tremendous rumble, Shatner comes bursting through the backdrop behind them and yells, "OH YEAAAHHH!" just like the Kool-Aid guy...

I would think that the tremendous rumble would come from the fact that Shatner and the Kool-Aid guy have the exact same build.

Kurtzman sounds like he's playing stupid for dramatic effect. They've no doubt got something HUGE planned for Comic-Con.

My prediction? Kurtzman, Orci, and the rest are sitting there addressing the audience. Someone inevitably asks if Shatner is going to be in the movie. Kurtzman and Orci shrug, and say, "Does he really need to be in the movie? Hmm, maybe..."

They then cup their hands to their mouths and yell, "HEY SHATNER!!!"

With a tremendous rumble, Shatner comes bursting through the backdrop behind them and yells, "OH YEAAAHHH!" just like the Kool-Aid guy...

I bet as Orci sat there editing away recently, he jumped up and said, "Holy sh*t! We forgot about Shatner! OMG Alex, we have to call Bill's agent! This movie is going to fail unless we find a way to bring his character back to life! I mean.. that IS what this movie is about, right? How could we be so STUPID!"

I am sure of it.
