Features

By GustavoLeao / 21:13, 27 March 2008 / Feature Films

In his latest Shatnervision video interview, William Shatner talks about his meeting with the new James T. Kirk, young actor Chris Pine and the new Spock, actor Zachary Quinto. Here is a transcript of the video, cortesy of TrekToday

"I met the young man [Quinto] and the young man who is playing Captain Kirk," said Shatner to his daughter Lisabeth. "He was very nice. I know nothing about the movie. I suspect you probably know more about the movie than I do because Andrew [Clement] is doing makeup on it. I know nothing. I feel badly about that, but there is nothing I can do." Andrew Clement is the husband of Lisabeth Shatner.

cdydatzigs (aka "Steve"), the person who posted the trolling picture, is a guy that makes multiple jokes accusing Shatner of murdering his wife...So he can step to the very back of the credibility line. We see what his motivations are.

Actually? My friend is the producer and on-air fill-in host for a radio talk show on KABC-AM in Los Angeles. His partner was talking on-air about how he tripped over his dog by the pool at his house and nearly drowned. My friend then quipped, "What's your dog's name, William Shatner?"

I thought it was hilarious.. and referenced it once, not "multiple times" -- get a sense of humor guys. And can you please explain to me what a "trolling" picture is? Last time I checked, that was a still from the movie where Kirk died.

The earlier post I made was meant as a comical bit of sarcasm, not meant to be taken seriously.

Besides Shatner has given his blessings to Pine.

All is well, in fact I know that in the MIRROR MIRROR universe Kirk lives, and has cheated death...one...more...time!

By the way I am the MIRROR Universe Col. Green and am therefore a good guy. lol.

Triumvirate: Body, Mind, & Soul | Report this post to moderator
By: TRexx (Odo's file, contact) @ 14:09:09 on Mar 28, 2008

Sad is the sci-fi fan who doesn't grok that "death" is a plot device.

Image

For TOS, Gene Roddenberry chose a style of storytelling which once utilized gods or wraiths to represent the base elements of mankind and nature. Kirk, Spock, and McCoy -- serving as the triumvirate Body, Mind, and Soul for classic morality plays -- are essentially immortal, timeless archetypes which, as an inseparable unit, embody the corporeal and spiritual human condition.

Permanently killing any of Kirk, Spock, or McCoy is an act of gross ignorance (or arrogance) toward the architecture of a pop-cult legend: Star Trek. It shouldn't have happened, and warrants a canonical annulment.

So where is this pic from? Is the Shat on the set of the movie, or is this some fanboy mockup? (I hope the latter because the set looks pretty cheesy.)

GET A LIFE,
will you people? I mean, for crying out loud, it's just a TV show!.... You've turned an enjoyable little job, that I did as a lark for a few years, into a COLOSSAL WASTE OF TIME! -- William Shatner on Saturday Night Live (1986)

I don't give a fiddlers f"c£ who this person named Chris(?) Pine is, or what he thinks he's playing or doing, because he is just an embarrasment for any
true TOS FAN and he's just an a$$-hole, having the balls to even think he or anyone else could play Kirk because there is only one James T. Kirk.. and that is William Shatner.

Truly the man is THE God of Star Trek, there is no comparison!

Is Pine out of his diapers yet? Doubt it.

Best regards to William Shatner from a very loyal and angry for his and our sakes, Star Trek character from 1969 even though he killed me in "The Savage Curtain"!

Regards

Colonel Green

OK, he's Captain Friggin' Kirk. He's best friends with Leonard Nimoy. His son-in-law is a make-up artist on the film. Other TOS actors have visited the set and talked with their counterparts. I'm fairly certain that if William Shatner wanted the grand tour of the sets and signed a confidentiality agreement so he could read the script, he could, no problem.

For a man of his age, Bill Shatner still looks good in the Captain's chair.
