The Urban Network posted an exclusive interview with actor/director Tyler Perry, who plays the head of Starfleet Academy in J.J. Abrams Star Trek movie. Here are excerpts of the interview.

Tosha: Everyone is coming after you to work in your movies, but is anyone beating your door down to work in their movies?

Tyler:
Sure, I got a couple offers. One I couldn't do that I really wanted to do was Wolverine and I just finished Star Trek. That was pretty exciting. I'm getting some of those offers.

Tosha:
When did you do Star Trek?

Tyler:
About 4 or 5 months ago. Wolverine I couldn't do because of the schedule of The Family That Prays. They were shooting at the same time, so I had to commit to my own.

Tosha:
What is your role in Star Trek?

Tyler:
I can't talk about it. I'm under a strict confidentiality agreement. I need to check with them to see what I can and can't say and how much the want me to talk about it. They asked me not to say anything. I am getting all the ‘what did you wear?' and ‘what did you have on?' questions, but I can't say anything.

The full interview is here.

Yeah, Terry, I understand, but be certain that we will be posting heavy spoilers in the near future. Stay tuned...if you want.

Posting major spoilers is fine, but for the large number of us who do NOT want the movie ruined for us.. just put spoiler warnings in the post headings AND in any responses to non-spoiler posts! That's all I ask :)

A moratorium is requested | Report this post to moderator

I hereby request a moratorium on interviews with cast members of Star Trek in which they tell the interviewer that they can't tell them anything.

Of what benefit is hearing them say, "I can't say anything"? We already know there's a Romulan cloaking device of secrecy surrounding this entire project. Let's just turn the heat down, let the pot simmer, and serve it up in May of next year when it's ready, okay? If you keep tasting it to see if it's done, there won't be any left.
