Hello everyone, i´m new here and if my english sucks I apologise.
Anyway!
I don´t know who the biggest fool here are.
You, me or the ones making this movie. I for one think it´s going to be a fun flick, no doubt about that. But what i keep wondering about is, if Spock goes back in time to save the world. Would it not be LOGICAL to tell the young Kirk how he dies in the future, so that the young Kirk knows what to do? This thing about not being able to bring Kirk back because he died in Generations does not make any sense when you think about timetravel and it´s possibilitys.
And by the way!
Ofcourse they say it´s a reebot. The last... 7 movies was kind of disappointing in box-office-value. If they SAY this movie is for the moviegoers who never liked Startrek, they will get a bunch of new dollars.
I pretty much think it´s going to be the same old.
Think about what they said about the last Batman movie. It was going to be totaly new! New take on the story! New take on Suit!! New Everything!!!
Well, it was not to much news in that film, even the Batsuit was kind of old news! Latex anyone?
Tada!
Where is the downside to having William Shatner in this movie?
It's kind of a slap in the face to Shatner and Kirk to not have him involved in the film.
If he is not involved I don't think I will see the film.
Who are these idiots still asking for Shatner to be in the movie? First off, did you people not see Generations? Kirk died!!! And if you bring him back now, you lose all credibility. They got away with when the brought Spock back cause they left a back door in TWOK. Plus, Shatner looks way too old and fat so be believable. Plus, he looks like the guy from Priceline.

"Maybe in another thousand years, we'll have teleportation and all that other Star Trek stuff. But with our current technology, we can't even make William Shatner's hair look real." --- Bill Maher
Prediction:
When Star Trek 11 finally comes out and people go to see it and FINALLY realize that Shatner isn't in it ... they will then proceed to make claims of a deleted scene existing and moan about that.
Here's my view. It's bad enough bringing Nimoy back, considering this is supposed to be a reboot. That's the same as having Connery appear in Casino Royale with Daniel Craig. It undermines the efforts of the new guy.
If Shatner does end up being in Star Trek 11, not only will I walk out of the theatre, but I will proceed to take every bit of Star Trek paraphernalia I own and either chuck it, take it to the used bookstore/DVD shop, or put it on eBay (depending on the item) because I will be utterly through with Star Trek.

Quote from StillKirok:
Abrams hasn't had the guts to talk about this since July, where he continued his lie.
Early on, Shatner too was emphasizing the resurrection dilemma.
The past year has looked like a farce of dysfunctional communication, spotlighted by Shatner's pomp to the media and melodramatic videos. It all smacks of a hyperbolic publicity scheme.
If Shatner is a no-show in ST:XI, you'll have cause to say Abrams is unable to choose goals that are realistic for his team -- but that's no proof of a lie. There's no need to attribute malice to something which can be adequately accounted for by incompetence.

TOS Classic 2-in-1 Phaser
As much as those who are sick of hearing me and those who share the view that Shatner should be in the movie as Kirk, and want US to shut up, I really wish this beady eyed liar wouls shut the hell up more....him and Oric, nothing they can say will save face to those of us that know what we heard, had our hopes raised, then smashed on the rocks like Kirks dead body in Generations...it was like living that horrible death over again, and, yes, I KNOW it is only a movie...but all you little squeaky orgasmic fools, getting all girly excited over a less than impressive teaser, are equally as annoying to me....it all pans out in the end....we all die, nothing matters, so, I'll say what I want, you say what you want, and we'll all go about our daily lives until it's snuffed out. Have a nice day.

This has been a news item before. Abrams has answered this question several times.
Why does Trekweb continue to beat this dead horse? The subject is closed. Why continue throwing read meat to the Shatnerbators? They're sharks in the water whenever this subject arises, and all you do is instigate them (and thus make everyone else miserable) with these 'stories'.

The autumn days swung soft around me, like cotton on
my skin. But as the embers of the summer lost their
breath and disappeared, my heart went cold, and
only hollow rhythms resounded from within.
And just about every other major character in the history of Star Trek?
Prepare for irrational bitching in 5...4...3...2...
on a serious note, from the trailer and the pictures, that definately looks like the Enterprise design from Gabe, so if thats true, and there was that misinformation put out there, its possible Shatner will be in this movie despite the denials...
