If the point of these photos was to show off the detail within the red circled areas then why is the IESB logo slapped right in the middle of the areas of interest? Am I the only one thinking this is counter-intuitive?
I just read on another website that some people believe to have spotted Casey Affleck in one of these spy pics.
I believe they are referring to this pic: Pic on iesb.net
There's another one with the same guy in it on the page.
Here's a photo of Affleck from the IMDB: Casey Affleck on IMDB
I'm not sure. There's some resemblance but it might be a coincidence.
There are better pictures that reveal a bit more on linked sites.

Those have got to be the lamest sneak-peek photos I've ever seen in my 33 years of life, and I've seen a LOT of them.
I don't know where these people are seeing colors except maybe in their own heads. Other than an errant dark collar, I'm seeing no colors, just the trench coats. Nice tactic, by the way.
I know TrekWeb's responsibility is to post any kind of Trek news for us fans to snort and get high on, but this is some bad sh*t. I don't know why the photographer even bothered posting them, other than to possibly feel the elation of getting everyone's hopes up by the announcement "FIRST PHOTOS FROM THE STAR TREK MOVIE SET!!!" only to see the collective letdown experienced by fans when they see how utterly unremarkable they are.
Gotta tell ya, I feel ashamed to be a fan right now, because I was just as suckered in by this news as most others probably were. They've really got me by the short hairs. *sigh* Oh well.
these look like pictures from...
- a construction site.
or
- the members of heavens gate preparing for their "away mission".
im not doubting they are from the set.
but they show basically nothing.
maybe we will see "something" soon.

They're not really showing us anything here. I don't see all the colors that were mentioned. I see a little bit of the collar style that looks good, and some forest green looking color, but nothing much really.

You know what's funny? If you check out all the photos you can see that some people are staring right into the camera. So it seems like they were very well aware of the photographer's presence but decided not to do anything about him.
Also some of the people wearing hoods might be covering up ears or other alien body parts.
You know what? Good for them!
I, like many of you, want to see what's under those cloaks (Rommey or otherwise). I want to see the details of the uniforms. I want to see the color scheme choices that the designers choose. I want to see how well the "new" fits with the "old" as far as style and fit. I want to know how tight or loose the uniforms are as opposed to the 1960's version of what was "hip." I want to know sooooooooooo much about what I couldn't see in these photos. And you know what?
Good for them. They want to keep it all a secret for as long as possible. They want December 2008 to be a real PREMIERE! (Fancy that, boy's and girls....a real premiere). They want the fanboys to go nuts. They want the websites to speculate away. They want the fan base to begin to actually care.
I know, I know. There are plenty of you out there who say you could care less. There are many of you out there who say, "No Shat, no ticket." There are even some out there that claim that this whole thing has no appeal to them (I am still trying to understand why someone would visit a Trek website and not care about a new trek incarnation, prequel or otherwise, but oh well, to each their own).
But to every person who fains disdain for XI and to every person who can't wait to log on and tell us all why THIS even makes you sick....I say....Good for them! They got you to take time out of your busy schedule of all the earth-saving things you were doing to gripe about how they are doing it all wrong.
And for those of us who actually got very excited by seeing these photos and began to use our imagination again (just like we did with the cardboard and plywood sets of TOS in the 1960's) THANK YOU Abrams & Co.
Thanks for letting us dream again.
While not very revealing, I'm stunned that pix have come out already! But then, I'm pretty naive. With all the tech available today I shouldn't be surprised at all. Very clever covering up the costumes like that though.
