Images from New Voyages Episode "World Enough And Time" Starring George Takei

Trek Movie Report posted 3 images from the upcoming Star Trek New Voyages fan film episode "World Enough And Time".

The first image shows Captain Hikaru Sulu (George Takei) and Commander Janice Rand (Grace Lee Whitney) on the bridge of the U.S.S. Excelsior, plus images of the starships Enterprise and Excelsior.

The episode has a premiere date: August 23rd. It will be seen in a live streaming event timed to coincide with the gala premiere at a theater in Beverly Hills to be attended by Takei, director Marc Zicree as well as show creator/star James Cawley.

This is how I look at this fan series. When you were in high school and it came time for your senior year photo..... in the year book. Did you want the picture of you looking like a retard in there, or the picture of yourself in the tuxedo? This is the same thing with this new fan series..... the whole world is gonna see this crap and think... "Ohh so this is star trek. Looks like crap to me!" I think that the series will kill star trek even more and probably be worse then enterprise. All I have to say is "Thank God Rick Berman is Gone". Or is he!!! Since crap like this is comming out.

In my opinion, it's the best made fan produced stuff out there.

I can't complain. It's free and Paramount hasn't made any trek in a long time.

I watch every new episode and short that comes out.

Marc Zicree is a great scifi writer/director, loved his work on Sliders. Glad to see Sulu back on the Excelsior. As for merging plots, well, New Voyages is set in TOS "Season 4" and they want to have the TOS actors they get play their old characters. So you have to merge the plots. My only issue is their over use of the Mirror Universe.

I would agree that the actors playing TOS cast are pretty bad, but they are also major people in the production. It's kind of hard for this team to bring in former Trek writers and actors, and audition actual actors, and have to coordinate all their schedules, on a project they fund out of pocket and are not allowed to profit off of.

BTW, New Voyages is 3 years old now, and has been getting bigger. So no bomb yet.

Yah... this does look a little fanboyish... lol The guy playing Cpt. Kirk really seemed gay. I think it will bomb... This is why people make fun of us trekkies. lol
