Zachary Quinto in Negotiations to Play Spock in Star Trek XI ?

Features

By GustavoLeao / 16:11, 11 July 2007 / Feature Films

According to CHUD.com, Heroes villain Zachary Quinto is "in negotiations" to play the young Spock in J.J. Abrams Star Trek XI movie.

Quinto told Starburst Magazine a few months ago, "When the news about the next Star Trek movie began to surface I became inundated with e-mails and links to websites where people were saying, 'Zach Quinto should play [young] Spock'. I started opening myself up to the idea and I think the exploration and immersion to be done with such a character would be amazing."

"I tend to be the type of personb who acts from a very visceral place and reacts emotionally to situations, and to 'become' a character that is completely the opposite of that is one of the reasons why I'm an actor. I would love the opportunity to understand what it is to only operate from a place of logic and look at things so specifically from that perspective."

If Quinto is indeed cast in Star Trek XI then that would require heavy retooling of the Heroes filming schedule as Star Trek's fall shoot would conflict with the series.

Official casting announcements for the movie are expected to be made at this month's Comic-Con in San Diego.

This information is preliminary, of course, and entirely rumor.

The original report can be found at CHUD.com.

Disrupt Heroes for this? HEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEELL no.

NOT cool.

Though he would be good for the part. I could live with a Trek delay though, to accomodate Heroes.

Sorry, but I love that show and as much as I want to see more Trek I really want a great season of Heroes. Especially since this is just a single film. That's a whole season that can be impacted.

The Quinto rumour (which has been around for awhile) is the only major Trek XI casting rumour so far that makes any sense to me. I think he'd be terrific, so I hope there's some validity to this.

This Chud site is not legit, nor is the spelling of the person posting, being the "type of personb..." that might make it all up. Maybe he made it up.

Untill JJ Abrams announces official cast members, ignore these things.
