Quote:"Shatner commented on his possible ENTERPRISE appearance saying he came to them with a story, they said "Great story". He named a price for appearing on Enterprise, and they said "Great story". He thinks his agent is still talking to em, but he's not sure if he'll be on the show or not."
WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So is he going to do it or not? Doesn't anybody know anything on this matter for certain? If Paramount lets this idea slip through they are beyond the most stupidest people on the planet! Typical Paramount bullshit of "put in a dime take out a dollar". Greedy good for nothing............ JUST PAY THE MAN WHATEVER THE HELL HE WANTS!! Take the money you are OVERPAYING those asshole Berman and Braga and the suits that allowed Trek to fall into the toilet and give it to Shatner! They can do without hookers and big cars for awhile! Star Trek is your #2 money maker and you are bitching about the price? Do they really think that no one is not going to watch the return of Shatner to Trek???? Unbelievable!! God damn are these people stupid!!!!!
That's really sad. I didn't realize he was in a wheelchair, or that his disease was nearly that far progressed. The last report I read seemed to suggest he was only in the beginning phases of it.
I really hate this. It's a weird feeling starting to see all the original cast go. They've been a part of my life for so long. My childhood in the seventies and eighties was in many ways defined by these people. Makes me feel way too grown up.
I'm glad Rick had a view of the stage. Thanks for letting us know what was going on up there. It was impossible from our "reserved seat" to see anything on the stage or even the screens with everyone standing during the rather brief "Grand Finale." It was blocked out on the con schedule for two hours and lasted about 15 minutes. There were a lot of angry fans at the conclusion of the convention. We got a partial refund from Planet expo. They rebated us the difference in cost between the reserved seat and general admission after I threatened to call my credit card company and report them to the BBB. This convention was poorly organized and didn't deliver as promised. I DID NOT EXPECT JIMMY TO SPEAK. But, I think those of us who had other obligations and couldn't attend the Star Party or the Banquet were promised something they didn't get, an opportunity to see ALL of the remaining cast onstage at the same time. Why was Nichelle the only cast member to speak in the finale. It would have been very nice to hear the rest of the cast make some brief comments, even if they had spoken at the roast the night before or earlier in convention. Why couldn't Leonard stick around or Bill pause signing autographs for the one thing that Planet Xpo promised, seeing the whole cast together for one last time. I'm glad I have memories of meeting Jimmy when he was more hale and hearty on more than one occasion to offset being cheated of seeing him one last time.
From above:
"After some more banter, they wrapped things up and both of them left, which I found rather tacky of them, but then again, maybe they felt they had said their goodbyes in private. Dunno. They said they saw Jimmy in his hotel room after the dinner they had last night, and Jimmy was crying because he couldn't believe that many people really loved him."
Creation has had these 2 together on and off all this year, so such shouldn't be unexpected. They just saw each other at the Las Vegas Con. They are due here in October. They are professionals and I am sure that they have privately hooked up with Doohan's family over the years.

"I think the show talked to people through the characters. They're stories that speak to the heart. They talk about love, they talk about friendship, they talk about loyalty, they talk about patriotism, exploration, curiosity, reaching out... And I think all those things still touch people. Even when you look at a 30-year old show, it still has something to say." - D.C. Fontana, Sci Fi Channel Special Edition TOS 1998

"If the season finale involves the re-built USS Reliant coming back in time to the 21st Century crewed by Moogie, Dr. Selar, Morn, Transporter Chief Kyle, and the Salt Vampire, then we'll know that Coto has gone too far." - tomba1701
