The Official Jeri Lynn Ryan Homepage website just posted an interview with the actress, in which Ryan said she would be willing to appear as Seven of Nine's ancestor on ENTERPRISE

"If my schedule allowed it and Brannon wrote it, I would consider it" Jeri Ryan told the Ventura County Star . According to the article "Brannon Braga, co-creator and an executive producer of "Enterprise", is Ryan's boyfriend; they live together with Ryan's 7-years old son from her previous marriage [...].

For the full interview, in which Ryan discusses her ternure on Star Trek Voyager, her new role as "Ronnie" on Boston Public and her mixed feelings about the Voyager series finale, 'Endgame', click here.

Sheesh! This is what it says:

"If my schedule allowed it and Brannon wrote it, I would consider it."

It doesn't say that it is written, that it will be written, that it will happpen, that she's signed the contract and picked out the spandex suit. It says that IF the opportunity presented itself, she'd CONSIDER it. So, even IF it was all worked out, she'd only THINK about it, she's not even saying she'd really do it!

Quit being such a bunch of hotheads over what you don't read. Read and understand and you won't look so foolish. It's this kind of rampoant overreacting to half-truths that have caused people like B&B to take Trek fans as a joke.

Am I mistaken, or have I read countless interviews of the Voyager Executives who said that when Seven was put on to replace Kes ratings went up for the show. Now its obvious why they did, but at least from their stand point it would be a good idea to have Ryan guest star as it would undoubtley help instead of hurt.

If there are any characters that were well liked from any of the Trek series, why not simply bring on the actors/actresses to do guest spots as OTHER characters? And dont jerk around with hokey ideas of "ancestors" lest ENTERPRISE become an "ancestor of the week" series. This way, you can show the fans the familiar faces we might like to see, and not make any bogus efforts to fit them into the continuity.

Personally, I'd like to see some of the "B-list" stars from other shows, that never got as much screen time anyway -- e.g. Takei, Koenig, Nichols, Burton, McFadden, (dare I say Wheaton?), Siddig, Shimmerman, Lien, and Wang. These stars probably wouldnt be as pricey as the "A-list" prima donnas, and would probably appreciate the work.

So how bout it?

I don't want Borg, I don't want Voyager stars, I don't want Q even. I want NEW stuff. I really hope we don't go down this route of reusing.

Jeri Ryan to guest star on Enterprise is a good idea, I mean when you look at Voyager fom season four on you will see what Seven has done for Voyager what the Derfiant did for DS9. And heres a good one, what they can do is have William Shatner guest star as Kirks great grandad and have him fight againsit starfleet idea about space travel, saying that this is not the way to go for the human race, no human will make an impact on the universe. It would be realy good.

...that this little tidbit has nothing to do with any actual plans that the Enterprise producers may have? It's clear from the story that this is just an off-the-cuff remark to a question some fannish reporter asked Jeri Ryan. I will be very surprised if she shows up on Enterprise in any form -- even though she is sleeping with one of the producers!

Just what Enterprise needs, the Seven of Nine injection.
Sure, it won't be the actual Wesley of Nine, but you bet she'll have the same repellent Mary Sueism to her. Good thing I'm not watching any more Braga-Berman crap after that c/7 bs.

I think Archer should get killed by a Borg and Q should appear and snap his fingers and make Seven of Nine appear on the bridge and become the Captain. Doctor Phlox gets killed too and is replaced by the Quark. The Grand Nagus then accosts the murderous Borg, shaking his cane at him and saying with his nasily voice "SHAME ON YOU!!".

The very next episode features the evil, rampaging Kess (who, possessed by the spirits of dead aliens who died a millenia ago by playing a deadly electronic "video game" -- called VOYAGER!)travel through a weird looping space anomaly on a mission to blow up the ENTERPRISE to prevent the Federation from forming to prevent the VOYAGER from ever leaving the Alpha Quadrant!TUNE IN NEXT WEEK FOR THIS SHOCKING EPISODE!!!!

(WARNING: This episode is a repeating loop of the first 15 minutes of the episode -- that is quickly wrapped up with one other scene in the last five minutes of the episode. The reset button is hit and it's on to the next "exciting" episode!)

Maybe Brannon had nothing to do with this. If that's the case, it's a little ... well, pathetic ... for Jeri to be dropping hints like this, simply because her boyfriend is one of the producers of the show. If Berman had any sense, he'd nip this one in the bud real quick, both with the press, and with Brannon. I'd be telling him, "Brannon, please tell your girlfriend not to expect any favors." Can we hope for this much?

I liked Seven, occasionally. I don't think she ruined the show; that was B&B's privilege. But if Enterprise is supposed to be a fresh start, then they need to resist the temptation to refer constantly to the future. Unfortunately, the preview info we've seen has pretty much put the kibosh to that notion, and I expect it's only the beginning.

To Rick: reign in your partner.

To Brannon: tell Jeri to watch what hot water she drops YOU in when she gives interviews.

To Paramount: demand higher standards from B&B. The 'franchise' may be your cash cow, but if the milk is sour, it's not going to last.

Strange career decisions

Her statement sort of calls into question her excuse for not doing a cameo in TREK X. Is the real reason because Brannon Braga didn't write it? I can't stress enough what a bad career move it would be to limit yourself only to projects written by Brannon Braga! Ugh!

When does it end???? Why, oh why do I keep seeing her name?????

She ruined Voyager... now she will ruin Enterprise.

Let me guess. Jeri's ancestor (the one she will be playing) was a bad actress on earth that ran around in really tight and revealing clothes.

WOW! What a no-brainer! It is sad when your only claim to fame as an actress is that you are willing to dress like a whore.

Boo!! I hope there is a SCHOOL SHOOTING at Boston Public, and I hope she gets it! (Brannon can't wave his magic pen and save you in this one, baby!)

dont get me wrong. I loved Voyager and I like Seven of Nine too.

But...I just think it's hillarious if they actually bring in Seven's ancestor and have Jeri play her. I mean...what are the chances of her ancestor actually being involved with the Enterprise?? Maybe all the characters should have an ancestor appear at least once on ENT then. We'll have one big reunion.

So much for originality...

Oh dear, oh dear!

I thought the whole point of the new Enterprise show was to do away with all the references to other shows and so - a fresh clean slate!

The show hasn't even started, and already characters from the other Trek shows are being brought in... Well, I suppose we should be grateful it isn't actually Annika Hansen/Seven of Nine herself, although I fully await that will happen along with guest starts like Q and the Borg, completely destroying established canon in the process.

This is one reason why I was reluctant about Enterprise in the first place, and it's rather difficult not to take this as confirmation of my worst fears...

Look Braga et al, I like Seven of Nine too, but you're going to move back in time to start over, then you've *got* to drop the references to other shows - they are *not* possible to refer to since they haven't happened by that time. Period! If you're unwilling to make that sacrifice, then don't move the show back to a time that precedes all that is established! If you make the choice to go with the Enterprise show, and you have, then live with the consequences! I'm already disappointed the ship is called Enterprise when canon clearly establishes that Kirk's/Pike's/April's Enterprise was the first starship by that name! By going this way you cheapen and mock the work by those who made Trek before you and you redicule fans who value what they have come to accept as Trek lore over the years! :(

... looks exactly like Kathryn Janeway, I don't see why Jeri Ryan could not play an earlier Hansen. I'd wait to use such a ratings ploy or the whatnot for a season finale or season premiere. And I'd hope it would be more than a ratings ploy, that they could write a good episode involving ancestor Hansen teaming up with Archer and his crew.
