A 29th-century captain sends Seven of Nine back in time to find those responsible for destroying Janeway's ship.
Captain Braxton previously appeared in "Future's End" and "Future's End, Part II". He was played by Allan G. Royal in those episode; it's unknown why the part was re-cast, but this is hardly the first time a part has been re-cast on Star Trek.
Plot discrepancy: In "Caretaker", Lt. Stadi was the pilot of Voyager, and Tom Paris was brought aboard as an observer. Must be a parallel timeline.
Seven assumed the identity of Ensign Anna Jameson, service number 860790.
Lt. Joe Carey has not been seen since the first season episode "State of Flux".

In an episode that revisits Janeway's first day aboard the U.S.S. Voyager and then fast forwards 500 years beyond it when her ship is destroyed, Captain Braxton of the 29th century Federation Timeship Relativity contacts Seven of Nine to go back in time to solve the mystery of who planted the "temporal disrupter" which ultimately destroyed the U.S.S. Voyager. But when the new starship captain, Janeway, catches the mysterious Seven aboard the brand new U.S.S. Voyager, she detains her, an interference that could contaminate the time-line.
