- The Borg Episode coming this February. In it, Voyager will encounter the Borg, as well as a race that even the Borg are afraid of. Robert Duncan MacNeill (Tom Paris) who just directed Sacred Ground is slated to direct. It has been filmed, and finished editing this week. (12/3). Robert Duncan MacNeill says this is his favorite episode, even though he only gets 10 lines. He wasn't allowed to see First Contact before making it, but we will have the new Borg. In the episode, the Borg situation will parallel the Soviet Union situation. Somehow a Borg ship will be "turned off" (perhaps because of the events in First Contact) and the drones will become themselves again. Many will not like it, many will miss the power they once had, some will be very happy to be free from the Collective. Chakotay will have intimate contact with a Borg babe in this episode. We may also see someone that even the Borg are afraid of. Ethan Phillips has said that someone will get close to being assimilated, the Holographic Doctor is immune to the Borg (and apparently Gates McFadden was not exactly thrilled with the Doctor's cameo in FC, her part being so small already). Phillips said he only has three lines and didn't read the whole script because he wants to see how the episode turns out.
They transport a BORG to sickbay, where the Doctor and Kes perform a "Borg Autopsy" (First pictures here). It
