Notes:

  • Part 5 of 10.
  • 4.4.99: According to a TGL source who attended a recent convention, Odo will begin to show first signs of the Founder's sickness in this episode. His condition will get worse. Meanwhile, Damar's objection to the signing of the Dominion-Breen treaty forces him to turn to a few DS9 crew members, in an attempt to foil the signing of the treaty which could end up harming Cardassia.
  • The only non-staff writer involved in the final episodes is Spike Steingasser, who provided part of the storyline for "When It Rains...". Spike previously contributed to Star Trek: The Next Generation in its final season by providing the television story for "ward". (Additional material in that episode was provided by William N. Stape, and the teleplay was written by then-Science Advisor Naren Shankar.)

Eager to aid Damar's rebel movement on his world against the Dominion, Sisko orders Kira to put her antipathy for the Cardassian aside and train his staff in resistance tactics. Bashir asks Odo to assist in his medical project by donating the Changeling-equivalent of a skin sample. On Bajor, Kai Winn studies the forbidden text of the Kosst Amojan to learn how to release the evil Pah-wraiths. Hoping to ease Cardassian sentiment against the Bajoran Kira, Sisko givers her a Starfleet commission and uniform.
