  • As of the beginning of this episode, it had been four months since Worf and Kurn's last communication.

  • The House of Mogh's lands, ships, and seat on the High Council have all been removed because of Worf's actions in "The Way of the Warrior"; to wit, his refusal to join Gowron on the conquest of Cardassia.

  • The Emperor (Kahless, cf. TNG's "Rightful Heir") was present at the ceremony removing the House of Mogh's possessions.

  • A new Runabout was introduced: the Yukon, named after the Yukon River in Alaska, U.S., and the Yukon Territory, Canada.

  • Interstellar Law declares that only one warning of military exercises need be given.
  • Klingons who die with honor are said to "cross the River of Blood into Sto'Vo'Kor". Sto'Vo'Kor was first mentioned in Star Trek 5.
