Notes:
- Sisko and Odo travel to Earth when they discover that the Federation
government might have been infiltrated by the Founders. Part 1 of 2.
- Brock Peters, who plays Ben Sisko's father, also portrayed Admiral
Cartwright in Star Trek IV: The Voyage and Star Trek
VI: The Undiscovered Country.
- Robert Foxworth also plays General Hague on "Babylon 5", and Questor
in Gene Roddenberry's "The Questor Tapes".
- Susan Gibney, who plays Benteen, was also Leah Brahms in TNG's episodes
"Booby Trap" and "Galaxy's Child".
- The Bajoran wormhole has been opening and closing for no apparent
reason lately.
- Dax has been rearranging Odo's quarters while Odo is in his
gelatinous state.
- It has been over one hundred years since a terrorist attack on Earth.
However, in a meeting with Federation and Romulan delegations in
Antwerp, Germany, 27 people (including a Tholian observer) lost their
lives to a bomb of unknown origin.
- The Lakota was used in this episode, but was not shown onscreen.
It is possible that this is a new Runabout,
but non likely since there is no Lakota River on Earth. It could
potentially be a Yellowstone-class Runabout (cf. Voyager's "Non Sequitur"), which would explain
the name, or it could be a "regular" Starship. Given the capabilities
of communication and transportation later in the episode, the last
option is the most likely.
- Benjamin's sister, Judith, lives in Portland. It was not mentioned
whether this was Portland, Oregon; Portland, Maine; or somewhere
else. Judith, just like her mother, does not include enough
cayenne peppers in the jambalaya, which in her father's opinion
means she has no business being in a kitchen.
- Joseph Sisko has many artificial organs, including a new aorta. He also
has a dermal regenerator in the restaurant.
- Clive is the best bloke ever to prong his kite into the Channel.
At least, Chief O'Brien seems to think so.
- Many years ago, during the Great Money Collapse on Ferenginar (during
which currency devaluation and rampant inflation spread like wildfire
through the lush money supply), Quark was serving as a cook on a long
haul freighter. He would seem to have this in common with Neelix from
Voyager.
- Chief O'Brien's family lives in Dublin, Ireland. Julian doesn't seem
to have anybody important on Earth.
- All of the Klingon Dieties are said to have been killed millennia ago
by warriors because they were more trouble than they were worth.
- Then-Commander Sisko was the Executive Officer under Then-Captain Leyton
aboard the Okinawa. Of all of Leyton's XO's, Sisko is the only
one of whom he speaks fondly. (Excepting, of course, Commander Benteen,
his current XO.) Admiral Leyton recommended Sisko for the post on DS9.
- Jake is visiting the Pennington Academy in New Zealand.
- Joseph Sisko is thinking of adding Tube Grubs to his menu, dead, with
a nice Remoulade. Nog doesn't think highly of non-live Tube Grubs:
"What good are Tube Grubs if they don't wiggle on the way down?"
- Joseph Sisko's Doctor, who has lived in New Orleans for 20 years, cannot
tell the difference between Cajun food and Creole food. Joseph has not
seen his doctor in eight months.
- Capt. Sisko's full name is Benjamin Lafayette Sisko.
- Joseph has progressive atherosclerosis.
- "I'm not sleeping... I'm checking my eyelids for holes." -- Joseph
- Jaresh-Inyo did not seek out the office of President of the Federation.
He was content representing his (unspecified) people, and almost said
No when nominated for the office. Now he wishes that he had.
