Tim Russ, who plays Tuvok in this episode, also portrays Tuvok in Star Trek: Voyager and played T'Kar, a Klingon mercenary, in "Invasive Procedures".

This episode marks the return of Jennifer Sisko, who hasn't been seen since the pilot episode, "Emissary".
This is the second sequel to the Original Series episode "Mirror, Mirror". The alternate universe is often called the Mirror-Mirror Universe in its honor.

This episode follows up to the story presented in "Crossover" from the 2^nd season.

Rom and Ben Sisko are no longer present in the Mirror-Mirror Universe.
