Notes:
  • This is the first major TOS-DS9 crossover. Koloth, Kang, and Kor each appeared in the original series against Kirk; Koloth in "The Trouble with Tribbles", Kang in "Day of the Dove", and Kor in "Errand of Mercy".

  • See also: The Voyager episode "Flashback".

  • Kor only paid for one hour of holosuite usage, but has been in there for three.

  • Klak T'kel Bracht is a famous Klingon battle against the Romulans from almost a century ago.

  • The captain of the last Klingon ship to go through the wormhole sold some ancient Klingon battle holosuite programs to Quark.

  • Gaffe: Odo sits at his desk with his office door wide open. He turns around to study a PADD, then realizes someone is in the room and swivels around to face him and asks "How did you get in here?!". The obvious answer would be "The door was wide open.", but the uninvited guest answers with "I am Koloth."

  • Kor stuff:
    • Kor is a Dahar master; he was cheered at Klak T'kel Bracht, and his voice carried much weight amond the Klingons.
    • Kor drank Brestanti ale.
    • Kor is at least 100; Koloth is at least 150.
    • Kor sings in the holding cell and at the end of the battle with the Albino.
    • Kor has a scorched burn on his 14th rib, and his left kivon aches every time his ship hits warp eight.
    • Kor met Curzon Dax 81 years ago, or in 2289 (or thereabouts), which is between Star Trek 5 and Star Trek 6.

  • Koloth stuff:
    • Koloth practices cuts and thrusts even with his food.
    • It's been 40 years since even Koloth's good eye was sharp.
    • Koloth was the toughest person Curzon Dax ever faced across a negotiation table.
    • Koloth tried to re-add Jadzia to the team.
    • Kor called Koloth "the grest stoneface".

  • Kang stuff:
    • Kang found the Albino.
    • On the Corvat colony, Kang and Curzon sat together over bach'gol (sp?). The Klingons and the Federation were still enemies.
    • Curzon Dax was the godfather of Kang's son.
    • Kang released Jadzia from Curzon's Blood Oath.

  • The Albino stuff:
    • [Story about a woman who found the Albino's sanctuary missing due to local transmission problems.]
    • The Albino has been in one spot, a stronghold on Secarus IV, for the past 25 years.
    • The Albino learned that Curzon and the three Klingons were coming to Galdon Terr by eavesdropping on subspace communications.
    • About 80 years ago, there was a group of "depredators" (sp?) lead by the Albino raiding Klingon colonies. Three Klingon warships were sent, and they captured most of the Albino's men, though the Albino escaped. In his last message to the Klignons, he promised to take revenge on the firstborn of each of the captains; a few years later, he kept his word--he infected three innocent children with a genetic virus, and one of them was Curzon's godson; he was named "Dax" for Curzon.

  • Curzon stuff:
    • Curzon died in a hospital room, yelling at doctors and friends who were trying to keep him alive for one more day.
    • Curzon was decorated many times for his diplomatic achievements.
    • Curzon was most touched when Kang picked him to be the godfather of Kang's son, who was named Dax in his honor.
    • Curzon "opened the door to peace"; he was the first diplomat that Kang had met who truly understood the Klingon nature.
    • Curzon's Blood Oath was extremely important to him.
    • On the first day of Corvat negotiations, he walked out on Kang during a long-winded speech of his; no one had been brave enough to show his back to Kang before that.

  • Jadzia stuff:
    • One Trill has no obligation to honor the promises of a past host, but Jadzia knows that a Klingon Blood Oath cannot be broken, and decided to keep it.
    • Kira touched on an aspect of a Trill "reassociation", dealt with more in a later episode, "Rejoined": Jadzia said that each new life must be a new life; otherwise, a Trill host could end up taking his/her whole life paying off old debts.
    • Jadzia wants a Klingon bat'leth: tip-to-top 116cm; 5.3kg in weight; exterior hand gripping diameter of 5cm; blades composed of composite beckanite.

  • Kira stuff:
    • Kira killed "too many" people when she was in the underground.
    • "When you take someone's life, you lose a part of your own as well."

  • The old Klingon ways are passing, according to Kang.

  • Lower pylon 1 has an intermittent plasma leak.
Quotes:
  • "It's brutal; it's violent; it's bloody. But to the Klingons, it's entertainment." -- Quark, on Klingon battle simulations.
  • "Now our warriors are opening restaurants, and serving rakht to the grandchildren of men I slaughtered in battle." -- Kang, about the passing of the old Klingon ways.
  • "Kang thinks too much--Koloth doesn't feel enough." -- Kor, about the others not wanting Jadzia to accompany them on their quest.
