- This is the first real three-parter in the history of Star Trek.
Though Star Treks II, III, and IV did flow together, they really
told three different stories. Similarily, "The Best of Both
Worlds" I & II and "Family" were two separate stories.
- This is Gul Dukat's third appearance. He previously appeared in "Duet", and next appears in "Cardassians".
- Leslie Bevis also portrays the Boslic Freighter Captain in "The Abandoned".
