Currently in it's seventh season, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine is the third television series inspired by Gene Roddenberry's classic series. Different from it's predeccessors, Star Trek and The
Next Generation, DS9 has no Starship Enterprise and is set on
a remote space station in the recently liberated Bajoran Sector of space. The station,
Cardassian in design, once oversaw the slave labor of thousands of Bajorans before becoming
the most strategic outpost in the United Federation of Planets.
