VOYAGER SEASON SIX PREMONITIONS / NEW SERIES INFO

Wednesday, June 2, 1999

Speaking with Trek insider "Dangermouse," here's some basic info on the sixth season of Voyager:

  • Shooting starts on the premiere (unless something changes, "Equinox, Part II") next week.
  • Roxann's directing the third or fourth episode.
  • Vorik should be getting replaced by someone from the Equinox as an occasional recurring guest.
  • Ron Moore is writing this year's Day Of Honor episode.
  • Neelix and Tuvok are both getting episodes in the first half dozen (according to [one of the staff writers]).
  • Tuvok may get a second show before Holiday hiatus.

When asked whether he had any info regarding the new series that will debut next fall, fall 2001, or fall 2002 (according to recent comments by Rick Berman), the low-down goes like this:

  • Current discussions (as "Dangermouse" understands it) have it set 15 years after Voyager, early in the 25th century.
  • Fall 2001 is the most likely premiere date right now, but a decision should be finalized after this year's November Sweeps period.
  • Most likely creative combination is Rick Berman, Brannon Braga and Ronald D. Moore. Any input from Michael Piller would probably have to be freelance, at this point.
