Monday, January 25, 1999 Star Trek: The Motion Picture 20th Anniversarry Soundtrack has Shipped TrekWeb.COM - Sony Legacy Music has shipped the newly expanded and highly anticipated edition of Jerry Goldsmith's Oscar-nominated score for Star Trek: The Motion Picture. Star Trek: The Motion Picture 20th Anniversary Collector's Edition Soundtrack will be released in stores on Tuesday, January 26, after a four year delay due to legal restrictions. The soundtrack has been the most demanded of scores by Star Trek and soundtrack fans alike. Composed and conducted in 1979 by Academy Award-winning composer, Jerry Goldsmith, this expanded version features well over 60 minutes of music, and has been digitally re-mastered using 20 Bit technology for pristine sound quality. A bonus CD, Inside Star Trek with Gene Roddenberry (1976), is also included as part of this Collector's edition. It contains interviews with original crew members, three tracks not available on the original LP, and newly recorded narrations/interludes by Nichelle Nichols.
