(Pre-Chat Chat) <B_sisko> Armin , your book has gotten big praise by friends and etc.. how did you come up with the idea for the story <EricStillwell> He got knocked off line earlier today when he tried to use one of the Actions. <thunderlove> Hello. <ArminShimerman> The three of us wanted to sell a story idea to DS-9; We were rejected. So I influenced the others to think about writing a book since I was already writing another one. <thunderlove> There ARE going to be PEOPLE at this chat....right? <SteveKrutzler> yes... for the Chattaway chat on Tuesday, it started like this, and then it climbed up real fast. <thunderlove> Good. <thunderlove> Are we going to get any insights on the finale? <SteveKrutzler> I'll moderate the room shortly so that only our guests can speak, so as to maintain order. :-) <B_sisko> armin , i know this off the subject from the book and all, is there any truth to the rumor of your were going to apear in insurrection <thunderlove> I liked tha ending better...it made SOME sense, rather than NO sense. <SteveKrutzler> Everyone... let's wait for the chat... <SteveKrutzler> lest everyone be asking questions haphazardly and making it confusing for everyone. <ArminShimerman> That was no rumour. I shot the scene and then Jonathan decided because it iterferred with the ending that the scene needed to be cut. I understood perfectly, espedcially after seeing the movie in its entirity. <thunderlove> But then....Insurrection was chpped so badly, there was no time to get involved into the story. <B_sisko> it would been nice to see you in the movie <ArminShimerman> It just would have been me in a thong bikini. Nothing special. <thunderlove> I'm expecting Quark to be on the big screen sooner or later... <ArminShimerman> Maybe he'll turn up on Buffy. <thunderlove> though he'll probably be played by James Van Der Beek. <thunderlove> Goota make money after all. <B_sisko> how is like working on the sets of ds9 and buffy <ArminShimerman> They are very much different. Ds-9 is all work. Buffy is play and work. <The_Eye> play? <thunderlove> You don't sound completely satisfied working on DS9. <ArminShimerman> The stars are younger and love to fool around. <ArminShimerman> I am wonderfully happy on Ds-9. I love to work and I love the work ethic. <thunderlove> Understood. <ArminShimerman> Hello Jennifer. I'm still thinking.... <QuarksLady> Hi Armin :) No problem <B_sisko> has any on noticed on the latest ds9 episodes that jake has been apearing , are all his scenes cut or not shot <B_sisko> has = hasn;t <SteveKrutzler> We'll start in a few minutes... just waiting for David to come along and some more people to arrive (people are always late-comers) <ArminShimerman> The seventh season has been scant for many of the regulars. I'm sure it has to do with stories all being tied up. <B_sisko> do you ever watch your shows, as a whole after you shot it <ArminShimerman> I haven't much in the last two seasons. But I did before that. It was a way of seeing whether acting choices in the make-up were working. By watching, I refined my craft. <B_sisko> sorry for getting carred way in asking questions <thunderlove> And a darn good job of it too! <QuarksLady> I'm glad you said that, Steve...thought you started without me :-D <SteveKrutzler> Ok.. here goes moderation...
(And so it began...)
<SteveKrutzler> Ok... Armin, Eric... would you like to start immediately or give it another couple minutes for people to arrive? <SteveKrutzler> (i am confident that the numbers will increase shortly) <ArminShimerman> Eric, how did you get involved with these other knuckleheads?? <EricStillwell> Well, let's see... <EricStillwell> The 3 of us were working on some DS9 story ideas to pitch to the producers... <EricStillwell> They didn't buy any, so Armin suggested turning one of the ideas into a book... <EricStillwell> David thought Armin was insane... <EricStillwell> And I knew it would be hard for 3 people to write a book, so I just took a back seat to the project. <EricStillwell> So David and Armin wrote the book based on a story the 3 of us had pitched to the producers. <ArminShimerman> We three have decided to start. Who's got the first question? <SteveKrutzler> Let me jump in here with some basic info... I believe the best way to do this will be to have everyone give their response to a question, indicating that they are finished with an asterik (*). Shall we go in the order of Armin, Eric, David (when he arrives)? <ArminShimerman> Yes. David is on the phone with me. He's having trouble <SteveKrutzler> Ok then... we'll begin... first question... <SteveKrutzler> From Gordon McLean: Hello Gentlemen! And thank you! I thoroughly enjoyed the book. It <SteveKrutzler> seemed to me that Shakaar was a little more hard lined than I remembered from the series, was this poetic license or did I miss something that would indicate that he could be that hard lined in his views. Lastly, keep writing! <SteveKrutzler> Ah, just in time, David! :-) Let me re-post the first question so you can see... <SteveKrutzler> (we're going in response order of Armin, Eric, David) <SteveKrutzler> First question once again: From Gordon McLean: Hello Gentlemen! And thank you! I thoroughly enjoyed the book. It <SteveKrutzler> seemed to me that Shakaar was a little more hard lined than I remembered from the series, was this poetic license or did I miss something that would indicate that he could be that hard lined in his views. Lastly, keep writing! <ArminShimerman> I'll leave this one for David* <EricStillwell> Days says (via phone): We really haven't seen Shakaar in the circumstances of The 34th Rule before <DavidRGeorgeIII> I'm here finally! <EricStillwell> Yeah~ <EricStillwell> I meant *David says* <DavidRGeorgeIII> Shakaar's beliefs come from a life lived in dire circumstance during the occupation. <EricStillwell> But now he can speak for himself... <DavidRGeorgeIII> I think his reactions are understandable, though we haven't seen him pushed liek this in the show. <DavidRGeorgeIII> * <SteveKrutzler> Ok.. next... <SteveKrutzler> From McReynolds: Are you more pleased with the final outcome of "The 34th Rule" being a <SteveKrutzler> novel, or would you have still preferred that it be produced as an episode? <SteveKrutzler> David will be back with us in a moment... <EricStillwell> David says (via phone): I would have liked to have sold an episode of DS9, but I'm actually delighted with the way the book turned out and how people are recieving it.* <ArminShimerman> A novel allows for more scope and depth. Its 1000 times better as a novel than an episode* <SteveKrutzler> From The Caretaker: Mister Shimerman, after having had the experience of writing an <SteveKrutzler> episode/book, would you ever consider doing it again? <ArminShimerman> I'm already writing another one or at least finishing up "Merchant Prince."* <SteveKrutzler> From ChiefOps: Would you care to briefly describe the other ideas you pitched that weren't accepted by the producers? <ArminShimerman> I cann't remember! 34th rule became all incompacing* <EricStillwell> David says (via phone): The other stories didn't have nearly the scope necessary for a novel... but I don't remember the specific details...* <EricStillwell> It's been 3 or 4 years ago! <EricStillwell> When DS9 was young! <EricStillwell> That's why the novel takes place in the 4th season... <EricStillwell> It takes a long time to sell, write & publish a book! <EricStillwell> David says: The writing only took about 4 months (3 months for first draft, 1 month for the next draft), but it's the copyediting process that took so long...* <SteveKrutzler> From Brad: How much was Armin involved in writing _The_34th_Rule_? A TOS actor who shall remain nameless works with a couple of "co-authors" that are more like ghost writers. Was Armin involved just in the outline and story, or did he actually write some of the prose? <ArminShimerman> I'm was a hell of alot more involved that Bill Shatner. Believe me, I wrote. <EricStillwell> David says: Armin and I had a solid & fun collaboration and I really enjoyed working with him... <EricStillwell> David says: One of the nice things is that we were both interested in same things in Star Trek... <EricStillwell> David says: We were both interested in telling a tale about prejudice...* <SteveKrutzler> From thunderlove: Guys...imagine you're faced with someone who thinks all Star Trek novels are boring....sell the book idea to me, er.....that individual. What makes this book fun to read? <EricStillwell> David says: For one thing, we didn't write this book as though it were just a ST book, we wrote the best possible novel regardless of the genre... <EricStillwell> David: I think people will find it perhaps a bit more complex than other ST novels and with a larger scope than the other books... the people to ask are the people who've read the book...* <ArminShimerman> This book is much more complex. We had a serious theme in mind, prejudice. We also knew our characters and the world they lived in. You won't find a more knowledgeable Star trek novel. Ask the readers who have read the 34th rule. They'll tell you how good it is!!!* <EricStillwell> Reviews on Amazon.com have been great! <EricStillwell> * <SteveKrutzler> From Allyn: Was the characterization of Quark in the 34TH RULE closer to Armin's <SteveKrutzler> conception of the character than the show actually portrays, because I <SteveKrutzler> found in the novel Quark to be more serious than in the show, and was the <SteveKrutzler> novel in some ways a reaction to the typical "frivolous" Ferengi episode? <EricStillwell> David says: This is a great question. The answer is yes, in my own case, the Ferengi in general and Quark in particular are too often portrayed as comic relief...* <ArminShimerman> You've been reading my interviews. You're exactly right. I find the Ferengi not to be taken seriously. I wanted to have my say since the writers of DS-9 weren't going to let me portray what I had in mind.* <EricStillwell> David: Characters that are never dramatic and only comic aren't that interesting to me.* <SteveKrutzler> From ThunderLove: To Mr. Stillwell...you along with Armin and David came up with the story to "The 34th Rule", but then THEY wrote the novel....aren't you paranoid that they left out some (if not all) of your brilliant story ideas? And Armin and David - why does Eric have to call EVERY story idea of his "brilliant?" <EricStillwell> I never said that... ? <ArminShimerman> Because he is English. In Britain , brilliant means just plausible* <EricStillwell> "every" story I have are few and far between. <EricStillwell> * <SteveKrutzler> From Devin Clancy: First, congrats on having the best-selling DS9 stand-alone book ever. <SteveKrutzler> Second, if you were both given carte blanche to write any Trek story you <SteveKrutzler> wanted for any characters except Quark (or Letek or that talking box), who would you use? <SteveKrutzler> Just FYI: Looks like we may be experiencing a "net split" (as they call it)... everyone should return in a moment. <ArminShimerman> I would write about Odo. He is the most interesting Star Trek character there is* <EricStillwell> David (via phone): First Kirk, then Picard. One of the reasons I did enjoy writing about Quark is because he's been so little explored in the show.* <EricStillwell> David: Also the Doctor (Voyager)... <EricStillwell> * <SteveKrutzler> Ok..moving on... <SteveKrutzler> From AshbyandAj: will you ever do a book signing on the east coast? <EricStillwell> David says: If somebody wants to ask us and fly us out there... if the opportuntiy arises, absolutely!* <ArminShimerman> I did some signing in Philly. Ask your convention people to invite us. I sign better on the East Coast* <EricStillwell> It would be fun! <SteveKrutzler> From QuarksLady: Eric, how did you come up with this particular idea in the first place? <ArminShimerman> Because we met at Eric's house and he always got to talk first.* <EricStillwell> WE sat down and were discussing ideas and something occurred to me that George Takei had once said... <EricStillwell> ...about being interned as a child with his family in a camp.... <EricStillwell> ...and that's how we started working with this idea of the Ferengi being interned because of an inate prejudice against them...* <SteveKrutzler> From Phil Lenton: A question for Armin: how did you feel that your proposal for "The <SteveKrutzler> 34th Rule" (which I enjoyed considerably more than any Ferengi episode of DS9) was turned down, but stories with considerably less depth, such as "Profit and Lace" and <SteveKrutzler> (to a lesser extent) "The Emperor's New Cloak" were developed into episodes? <ArminShimerman> Let me remind you, that Emperor's clock is not a Ferengi story per se. I am of course disappointed that these types of ideas were never given the green lite. It would have made my 7 years a bit more valid.* <EricStillwell> David says: It only bothers me as a viewer because I enjoy the more serious episodes, but one of the reasons our episode was rejected was because the studio didn't want to do Bajoran political and religous stories... <EricStillwell> David: Especially those that might reflect on the Bajorans negatively...* <SteveKrutzler> interesting. <EricStillwell> (David is using his clocking device) :) <Berserker> (I'm late!) I found it rather irritating that we got no bajor stories, especially when they're often easy story ideas <SteveKrutzler> Was this because the Bajorans had been portrayed rather passively, and as an oppressed people until recently? <SteveKrutzler> Perhaps not wanting to have a negative message about a people who had been shown as the victims. <ArminShimerman> No, rather because the Bajorans were thought by the TPTB to depressing to write about. This somewhat stymied our writers.8 <ArminShimerman> * <SteveKrutzler> Ah. <SteveKrutzler> Unfortunate. Next question.. <SteveKrutzler> From B_sisko: did you all expect the type reaction to your book [as it has received], i waited a week just to get it! <Berserker> depressing... that would explain why we never get to se the war on screen, too! <EricStillwell> David says: I certainly didn't expect the reaction, but I'm very gratified by it. <ArminShimerman> I am a first time writer and feel a little surprised. But, like the ffamous mousetrap, write it and they will come* <EricStillwell> * <SteveKrutzler> From QuarksLady: David, Armin said you did [a large majority of] the writing for THE 34TH RULE. I want to tell you you're a gifted writer; I honestly find few books that stimulate my emotions the way THE 34TH RULE did (as I told Armin, I cried during some parts). Do you plan to write any future novels? <EricStillwell> David: First of all, thanks Mom... <ArminShimerman> Jennifer, David was so moved he left to get a tisue* <EricStillwell> David: Yes, I'm actually working on a ST idea and an idea for an non-ST novel... and thank you for the kind words.* <EricStillwell> I cried, too. <SteveKrutzler> Ok... a couple DS9 questions I guess couldn't hurt... <ArminShimerman> Go ahead* <SteveKrutzler> From Jose Gonzalez: Armin, Can you give us your appraisal (without going in to any spoilers) of the final episodes you've flimed so far? Should the fans start getting excited? Do you think the series will leave us satisfied, at least from what you've seen so far? <ArminShimerman> I really and truly don't have access to the last 4 episodes so don't knpw what to tell you. * <Berserker> darn, it was a good try, jose <SteveKrutzler> I hope that doesn't mean you're not prominently featured at least in some of them... ;-) <ArminShimerman> From what I've filmed, we are just setting up the beginning of the end. It looks complicated* <EricStillwell> I've seen the storie outlines, but I'm not saying... <EricStillwell> It's a job security thing... <Berserker> (paramount's put a lock on the spoiler info pretty good this time) <SteveKrutzler> yes, except for the titles. <ArminShimerman> Na-na-na-na!!!!* <SteveKrutzler> From Smorgasborg: Quark has gotten a lot of comedies, some good and some bad, but only one real drama - "business as usual." Why didn't Quark get more? I think he has great potential as a dramatic character, as the war arc showed. <EricStillwell> David says: It was all a dream and we find that out when Quark comes out of the shower... <Berserker> it could be like st elsewhere, the dream of an autistic child... <EricStillwell> David: That's one of the reasons we wrote the book... <ArminShimerman> Smorgasborg: could you be my new agent!!* <SteveKrutzler> From spiderman: what aspects of DS9's conclusion are you looking forward to? <EricStillwell> Aren't there any Buffy questions? <ArminShimerman> The webspinning!1* <SteveKrutzler> I believe so... lemme find it... <SteveKrutzler> While I search for the Buffy question... <EricStillwell> * <EricStillwell> * <SteveKrutzler> here's a good acting question for Armin.. <SteveKrutzler> (long one too) <SteveKrutzler> From B.M.: Since Mr. Shimmerman has extensive experience with Shakespeare's plays, <SteveKrutzler> what does he think about appropriations of Shakespeare, i.e., when Shakespeare's plays are adapted in different contexts to provide topicality? I wonder how Othello <SteveKrutzler> would be performed by the characters of DS9 for example. I would think that Quark would play Iago well, reciting "put money in thy purse" to Roderigo, who could be played by <SteveKrutzler> O'Brien; Sisko as Othello, Bashir as Cassio, Odo as Brabantio, Kira as <SteveKrutzler> Emilia/Bianca, Ezri as Desdemona, Worf as Lodovico/Montano. <Berserker> Goll-y, someone really thought this question out! <ArminShimerman> We thinks B.M. hath perused much.* <SteveKrutzler> here here. <SteveKrutzler> ;-) <SteveKrutzler> and what would this chat be, without a Buffy question... <SteveKrutzler> From earl: Armin, do you think you'll continue your work on "Buffy the vampire <SteveKrutzler> slayer" past this season? You're character's a great punching bag for the other characters, so I hope they'll find an excuse to keep you. <EricStillwell> David: There ain't nothing like being a punching bag!* <ArminShimerman> I've only been hit ONCE!!! But, they graduate this season so I'm afraid I'm losing two shows at the same time. That's why I took up writing* <SteveKrutzler> From QuarksLady: Armin, I believe every character an actor plays includes a part of that actor. What part(s) of Quark would you say are just like you? <SteveKrutzler> are there any similarities between you and Principal Snyder? <ArminShimerman> The charm is mine (and the ears). I look just like Snyder does* <EricStillwell> He's much taller than Quark... <EricStillwell> * <SteveKrutzler> From ChiefOps: Armin, tell us about "The Merchant Prince", which you co-wrote with Michael Scott. <EricStillwell> Armin's writing the book as we speak... <ArminShimerman> Thank-you. Its about a real Elizabethan who was a spy for her majesty who finds himself in the 22th century witht the knowledge that Earth is about to be invaded. He must get to the Earth conspirator before D-Day.* <SteveKrutzler> From QuarksLady: Armin and David: As I tell everyone, the book is an exceptionally <SteveKrutzler> fantastic read. Certainly not what one expects. As soon as you were finished with the book and submitted it to the publisher, what did you do to relax/celebrate? <ArminShimerman> We kept calling the Publisher to get back to us. It took months. We wanted feedback.* <EricStillwell> David says: I really didn't celebrate until after the book was published and people started saying such wonderful things about it.* <SteveKrutzler> From Satan: Buffy has received a lot of praise because it has a continuous storyline with a lot of unanswered questions. Do you think this is the way to go in TV? DS9 has tried to straddle the line between continuous stories and standalone stuff, with mixed rsults I think. <EricStillwell> Plus the publication date kept getting pushed back, first Christmas, then January. We never knew for sure when the book would arrive in bookstores until people started buying it! <SteveKrutzler> (that's always a good sign) <ArminShimerman> This is a hard question to answer. Part of it is that Buffy is written for a network and so can take advantage of a thru-line. DS-9 is on syndication and can't be sure that the episodes will run in line. also the syndicated stations prefer stand alone episodes* <EricStillwell> The serial format seems to be the way of things on The WB, but I've personally never been convinced it works with Star Trek. The backstories get so complex within the fiction 24th century universe that it's really hard to bring in new viewers after the first year or so... <EricStillwell> * <SteveKrutzler> All valid points. I do think DS9 benefitted from the arc at the beginning of season 6... <Berserker> yeah, but we're nerds - we love minutiae and complicated stuff <ArminShimerman> I agree. But we didn't want to be Babylon 5.* <SteveKrutzler> However, I feel they abandoned it too much. They got deep into it, and then pulled completely out. We're all eager to see how they pull it all together. <Berserker> tue, babylon 5 went into the tank big time at the end <ArminShimerman> We'll just have to wait, Steve* <SteveKrutzler> :-) <EricStillwell> * <SteveKrutzler> From Gorgon: What got you [all] into writing? Do you have a favorite book that helped inspired you? (and this is question if for everyone) <SteveKrutzler> translate: (and this question is for everyone) <ArminShimerman> As a teenager I was on the road to being a writer. The acting was a diversion I took up in my late teens. Shakespeare has as everyone knows been my passion* <EricStillwell> David says: I've been reading since I was a very young child and I love to read and I think that's were my love to write comes from. I have many books that I love, classics such as "The Red Badge of Courage" all the way up to John Irving's "A Prayer for Owen Meany.* <Berserker> good book, fair movie adaptation <EricStillwell> I was once told by Bob Justman (producer TOS, TNG) that the fastest way to become a producer in Hollywood was to be a writer. I always had an aptitude for writing in school, so that's the direction I decided to take. (It hasn't help me become a producer yet!)* <EricStillwell> But I work one. <EricStillwell> for one <SteveKrutzler> Well, folks. That's about all the questions we've received... <EricStillwell> WHAT???????????? <EricStillwell> David thinks it would have been easier to have you all over for dinner! <ArminShimerman> I have a question: ---- where the hell is everyone????* <EricStillwell> David apologizes for the technical difficulties. <Berserker> i know - i think a bunch of people left before it started <SteveKrutzler> Yes, I know... we had 30 before, then ten people left for some inexplicable reason <Berserker> the biggest chat we ever had was 50 for michael piller, so that's a good yardstick <EricStillwell> David: They were all using AOL and got booted off...* <ArminShimerman> Who the hell is Michael Piller????* <SteveKrutzler> Usually these chats range from 30-60 people... but honestly, right now online Trek interest seems to have declined since the movie came out. <Berserker> guy who wrote star trek 9 <EricStillwell> You're sitting in his chair! <ArminShimerman> OH nice chair.* <EricStillwell> (Michael's in Florida. Armin & I are in his office at Paramount) <SteveKrutzler> and it's possible that the rescheduling confused some. <EricStillwell> David's in some godforesaken place where computers don't work... <SteveKrutzler> Florida? maybe I should drop in on him. <EricStillwell> Rescheduling? What rescheduling? <Berserker> either that or they're all watching basketball <Berserker> MARCH MADNESS - catch it! <EricStillwell> Are we done, Steve? <SteveKrutzler> With moderated questions, yes. <SteveKrutzler> I can unmoderate, and I'm sure people will have much to say... <ArminShimerman> Thanks for having us. READ THE BOOK then we'll talk more.* <EricStillwell> Open trhe floodgates... <SteveKrutzler> I just want to thank Armin, David and Eric for coming tonight... I know it's hectic out there in LA. <QuarksLady> The Official Armin Shimerman Website at http://www.walrus.com/~quark/armin/ is being expanded and improved! Armin and I would love for you to visit! Submissions are always welcome, and soon, links will be better than ever, with many categories and sub-categories! Quark's Latinum Lady/Snyder's Woman (that's me!) loves to meet other fans! Thank you, Steve!
(Post-Chat Chat)
<Berserker> Here's a question... (it may have been asked, like I said, i was late)... what's your favortie episode, armin? <B_sisko> how is like wearing the ferengi make up, and in your opinion will bajor join the federation <ArminShimerman> Far beyond the stars* <RAMA> Hey there Armin, what did you feel was the difference on the Voyager set from the DS9 set when you worked with them on the pilot? <QuarksLady> BTW, I should mention there's also two mailing lists...ArminShimerman@onelist.com and ArminFanfic@onelist.com :) <RAMA> Quarkslady? you're a lucky man Armin. <ArminShimerman> Voyager filmed on the DS-9 set. It was still in my bar!!! <QuarksLady> Quark's Latinum Lady and Snyder's Woman :) <thunderlove> Hey Armin...what does it REALLY feel ike when babes are rubbing your ears? <QuarksLady> LOL <RAMA> But you must have worked mroe with the cast! <ArminShimerman> Too many condums! <Jwb52z> Mr. Shimmerman, What made you want to play Quark? <B_sisko> armin , how long does it take to put on the ferengi make up <EricStillwell> Babes don't rub my ears... <thunderlove> LOL <QuarksLady> I love Kitty, but I have to tell you Armin, you're incredibly sexy <RAMA> See, I told you Armin. <QuarksLady> A 15 year old girl signed the guestbook and said she thinks you're "hot" <ArminShimerman> I worked with Garrett and Robbie, that's all. <Nedly> what are the drinks you mix made of, armin? <ArminShimerman> Ilove Kitty too. <hellblaze> Armin, are you at all happier with how Quark has been written this year? I've noticed that the writers are portraying him with a bit more weight, letting him provide a bit more insight, and generally not playing him as strictly comic relief. Any happier? <QuarksLady> :) <QuarksLady> Hey, when is Kitty's birthday? <SteveKrutzler> Just got an email saying that the Enterprise might be in the series finale..... anyone? <RAMA> How often do you get to actually watch DS9 Armin, and what do you think of this year's episodes? <ArminShimerman> Am I happy. Right more weight; less to do. <Berserker> hellblaze, good point - i like Quark's comments to Odo in "Chimera" <B_sisko> does any one feel in ther own opinion that bajor will join the federation or just stand alone <thunderlove> NOOO!!!!!!!! <LB4747> Did you guys ever pitch Quark episodes to the DS9 writing staff in the past? If so, could you tell us what story ideas you had? <thunderlove> Keep TNG away from DS9......do it the episode BEfore the finale. <EricStillwell> (read the transcript) <QuarksLady> Do you know if Nick is feeling better, Armin? <Jwb52z> Bajor won't join the federation till they get settled as their own world <RAMA> Lots of questions now. *L* <ArminShimerman> Nick is. <RAMA> Too many... <QuarksLady> Good :) <EricStillwell> The Enterprise might be in the season finale of Buffy... <hellblaze> Armin, what did you think of the much maligned (unjustly I thought) "The Emperor's New Cloak"? <Jwb52z> Mr. Stillwell, that would be just a bit too weird <EricStillwell> LOL <thunderlove> Now THAT would be cool...in a way....in another, more accurate way.......... <B_sisko> armin , a few books manage to become cannon in to the st universe, do you think that 34th rule will measure up to the cannon standards <SteveKrutzler> The Enterprise has a habit of showing where you least expect it. <B_sisko> i think it does <RAMA> Yes, this whole season has been maligned in certain circles.. <ArminShimerman> Cloak??? I thought it was a clock!! It was a chance for the regulars to be as silly as I often have to be. * Nedly rings the bell <RAMA> Question is, do you two think it stacks up to past seasons.. <QuarksLady> Hey, Armin...Anthony's going to be nekkid on May 5 in A Guy, A Girl, and A Pizza Place! I know lotsa people who will be pleased! <EricStillwell> We have more participants now! <QuarksLady> (including me) <RAMA> The beellls! <RAMA> 18 I think! <Jwb52z> Armin, did the writers really intend for that cloaking device to be cloaked itself? <Jwb52z> or was it a special effects decision? <B_sisko> how does feel to have a las vegas casino in your bar, vics singing , what do you think <QuarksLady> He got booted!! <Berserker> armin, is there an actor out there you would have liked to have worked with, but never got on ds9? <RAMA> We all came late, I jsut got home.. <RAMA> *L* <thunderlove> Any thoughts on Kubrick, Eyes Wide Shut & the trailer, if you've seen it? <hellblaze> Funny thing is, DS9 is being generally well-received by those I know who watch it, those who are not on-line. It's mostly the online crowd (and Trekweb seems to have a density in this area) that are somewhat (or more than somewhat) unsatisfied with it. <EricStillwell> Well, we've all got to run! Thanks for having us! <Berserker> thunderlove- that's going to be on #$%@ed up movie <thunderlove> Nothing wrong with that, is there? <RAMA> Well they are the more knowledgable generally... <QuarksLady> Bye Eric,!! <RAMA> Bye guys.. <Jwb52z> Voyager will finally have a chance to be alone <hellblaze> Appreciate the time, guys. <QuarksLady> Take care :) <Berserker> appreciate it armin ,david, and eric <SteveKrutzler> Don't everyone forget to stop by next Thursday for DS9 writer Bradley Thompson.... who I'm sure will have some finale tidbits for us. <RAMA> They missed all the questions! They wanted them, they got them! <EricStillwell> Thanks!
Don't Miss DS9 writer BRADLEY THOMPSON, Thursday, March 18th! TrekWeb.COM - 1999 - Copyright Steve Krutzler http://trekweb.com/Chat
